I have this stainless steel serving piece, but for the life of me, I can't think what to call it. It's quite large, 13" across, the removeable bowls are each a 2 cup capacity, so it is not for condiments. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Seems it could still be for condiments even if it is larger than normal. Maybe for dips?

It's for bbq items: sliced onion rings, sliced tomatos, pickles, carrotslices, carrot sticks etc for dipping etc To be used outside when having a bbq party

Thanks, so would I call it a barbeque server, stand, container or what?

Looks like the kind of salad dressing holder that restaurants use.

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?

Yes rarriffle, it does turn. I thought it would also be good for serving tacos.
I have a terrible time thinking up titles for some of my auctions!!

It loks just like the ones they use in my favorite steakhouse for salad toppings i.e. bacon bits sunflower seeds etc. The waitress just moves it from table to table

How about something like Spice up your next party! Good Food Good Friends Great conversation. Add some wonderful accents to the delicious meal you will be serving with this handy and versatile set. Then give some examples of what it can be used for. Ice Crean Socials to the bbq turkey you will serve thanksgiving

It looks a lot like an egg poacher that we used to have. A splash of water and an egg in each cup and the whole thing lowered into a saucepan of boiling water so that the steam cooked the eggs. It was a while ago though, so my memory might be playing tricks on me.

Adrian-If it's an egg poacher it would be for ostrich eggs, it is large, the cups hold 16 ounces!

It's for either LARGE S-car-GO or small Rustic-Oysters

Hi Amber,
Well I guess they would be big eggs!
LOL Tom. Poached prairie oysters, now there is a flavour sensation. Not for the faint hearted though. (Or weak stomached)
