I am a wreck. Was making a lot of money over the last weeks. NOW DEAD; am I going under or should I be prepared for a slow month? Wow; scarey. Maybe I am just paranoid.......HELP..........

If you sell the same wiget consistently, maybe you have tapped out your buyers (FOR NOW?) If not, sit tight awhile and be patient. Thats about all you can do anyway! (or try listing some 'other' stuff?)

It's been great for me - every other week. This is the slow week. Maybe it has something to do with the bidder's payday schedules?

What kind of things do you sell? I sell games that would made great gifts, and this has been my busiest week ever.

I've heard that collectibles in general do NOT pick up for Christmas.

Like most every other question on this board, the answer lies in "what do you sell?"

Interesting idea about pay cycles Cheryl! I still haven't been able to figure out why some weeks are blockbusters and the next dead as a doornail (collectible category). I have tried to identify prime days for selling only to have them be bust the next week. Ditto for timing of auction end.

I wish somebody offered a service that would analyze sales $ and sell through rate using criteria like this! Maybe we could identify patterns if we could see some data. ie: 3rd week of month =slow sales in collectible category.(If that truly is a trend)

All in all, I have scientifically come to the conclusion that it's a crap shoot!

I agree with Neglus on the crap shot idea!

I'll have a slow week so only list a few during that week only to have a great sell through the next and wish I had loaded it up. Some of my best weeks have been weeks with 80% relists so I know it has nothing to do with what I am selling, just who is looking at what time.

It is scary when the Ebay fees start adding up and the sales don't, but you just never know.

It's been really slow. I talked to a few other sellers at an auction yesterday and everyone agrees.

Any ideas about listings ending next Friday? I was away the last couple of years and didn't end anything Thanksgiving weekend. Part of me thinks a lot of people will be on eBay because they advertise so heavily on holidays. The other part says they are at the mall or travelling.

You guys are awesome. Will write later. Thank goodness I have a job. The sun is out and I am feeling better. Your comments have helped me. I had done so well last week. In fact, one item I relisted is busting loose.
I sell stuff missjuliak is my screenname. Thanks.

Sun, we have had snow all morning here in Oregon! That is kind of unusual for November...Is ebay slow, perhaps. I know that around this time I stop listing in preparation for an annual trip, so I don't know for sure. If it is slow now, it will probably pick up after next week for most of you.

Auction counts have nose dived too, down almost 2 million listings. Somewhat odd considering we're right in the middle of the xmas buying season.

Mine are slow too. Same thing .....one week it's great and the next hardly any bids.

I sell a variety of items, mostly vintage clothing and have a very good track record. I can't figure it out.

I'm thinking it's because certain brick & mortor stores are selling their merch really cheap and the buyer pays no shipping.

NOT gina50 on ebay

I sell antique tools and collectibles and for the last 3 years I have stopped my auctions from now untill January. I also sell at flea markets and they are slow during this time. I think new items sell good at this time but not used. Also it keeps me from having to stand in long lines at the Post Office this time of year.

I think it's going to pick up this week - I started getting questions today and that always a good sign. At least they are looking so now if they will just start bidding???
As a rule the last week of the month is always my best time but that Thanksgiving this month so I hope it happens this week or November maybe a big fat bust!!!!!

I have a big load of DVDs coming in. I'll list a bunch of them and some CDs. Hopefully they will sell for Christmas.

80% of what I sell is collectables and this time of year is by far the best to be listing. Sell through rates are up and multiple bids are coming back. One thing a little different this year though is to avoid the west coast on your listings. The wild fires have taken many good bidders away from their computers and working on fixing their homes and property. Sales to the east coast are way up this year.

My best week in the last 3-4 months happened this past week. My sales jumped about 40% from 1200 to almost $1800. I also have seen an increase in my sell through rate, and in the number of bids on items. The bad news... well, a higher rate of deadbeats. I'll take the higher sales if it means dealing with a few more deadies.

Rusty: Don't give up on the deadbeats. I think lots of people must have just went a little overboard because I finally received all my past due payments from October (just this week).

Once the NPB's started hitting I started getting excuses and once I filed the FVF I started getting payment with requests to retract them.
