Check to see if they are sellers? If they are try going through ask the seller a question. But wait, if the auction just went off they just might get in touch with you. With the spam filters they have now maybe they have theirs set high. No need to get upset yet.

notify ebay of bad contact information. Prepare an ebay invoice ( if you have enabled checkout. It will provide your address and is viewable on-line. I also have edited the image in the auction to say : "Buyer: My emails have been returned. Please complete eBay checkout for payment instructions and update your ebay contact information". It worked for me.

Bad contact Info? before you pull that trigger maybe you should ask iwhat the reason was in the undeliverable email. Could be that their box was full, fatal ISP errors, ISP spam blocker caught it. Maybe even wait a day and see if the bidder contacts you themselves. I had an ebay invoice returned because the ISP Spam blocker kicked it back. This morning I woke up to an email from the bidder ready to send payment.

Bad Contact info is a last ditch thing you do - It gets people accounts killed, it doesn't magically get your notice thru. Any seller that ever turned me in because of an email problem has definately just kissed off any possibility of payment from me and I doubt I am the only one.

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?

Undeliverable...how?

The mailer-daemon message is more specific, so read it and find out why it could not be delivered.

User unknown: report to eBay
Mailbox full: wait a day or so and try again.
Over quota: ditto
Rejected by spam blocker: target AOL headquarters with ICBM

Oh, and if you keep using pothooks seven at a time, you'll run out. Save a few for later.

Fluffys advice sounds about right. If it is truly a bad email account ( user not found ) then if you report the buyer for bad contact info ebay will take a few days to a week to act on the matter. The report protects you against a bad feedback from an antsy buyer.

How does it protect you against bad feedback? <scratching head>

eBay doesn't suspend people for invalid contact info any more. My guess is that there are so many of them that it got to be an expensive chore.

So, yes, your bozo with the dead email can leave you bad feedback. It's happened to me a number of times.
