I came across this site googling for something else - has anyone heard of it and/or used it? Their site says they are similar to BidPay and issue Traveler's Express money orders...

http://www.moneymover.com/default.asp

Sorry if it has been discussed and I missed it

Although I've never heard of them, I've found the best way to evaluate these services is from hands on experience. If you want to test their system, try sending me some money, say $50.00 - $100.00. I'll let you know if it works

Hi!

I went thru the site, and I can't figure out where they make penny or a buck?

They send MO, which means that they are not charging the seller, and no seller has to register.

They let the buyer pay for it by Credit card. They even mail it for free. How do they operate?

Just wondering!

Isn't this just Auctiva's answer to BidPay??

There is a pricing link on the home page. Prices start at $2.95 up to a certain amount, then increases as the payment amount increases.

I just did a search on eBay for "MoneyMovers", and there are over 19,000 current auctions that show up - checked some, and seems some sellers are offering it now.

wgm......i wish you and yours a happy holidays and healthy New Years......but would you please just give the German your bank info and be done with it......stop spending time looking for alternatives, or spending time and money setting up a separate account that's secure(ooohhhhh!!!!!). This German lummox is obviously not going to accept MoneyMover, Western Union, Bidpay, or any other of the 100 some odd places that send money. Please either send the German your bank info(once again, no risk, none at all. I think there's more risk that you have money in your bank with the branch manager that doesn't know the simplest things about banking). If you're just too paranoid to accept the truth then simply send him an e-mail saying you don't accept bank transfers, it was an Ebay error....end of story.

ROFLMAO, pointy!

Actually I think I may have the "lummox" taken care of! I haven't updated on the other thread because I am waiting to hear from him. And it's wire transfer, like he has been stomping his feet for

Honestly, the way I found MoneyMover was from a site I clicked on - "Auction Resources" - wasn't even looking for payment options!

And thank you very much for your well-wishes I wish you much love and happiness this coming year...

edited for typo - laughing too hard to type

wgm...Seriously, I think Tomwiii hit the nail on the head. Bidpay has a very successful business model and they are well respected. I think this is a wannabe along with the likes of Payingfast and probably a dozen more in the planning stages. The important thing to consider is the fine print in the user agreement on who will ultimately eat the big one if credit card fraud is involved . If it points to the recipient (seller) avoid them like the plague. If the company is confident enough in their investigative and security practices to assume that liability (such as Bidpay a.k.a. AuctionPayments.com) then they should be at the top of your list of preferred business partners. If your bank can make a no risk, no fee guarantee on money transfers then take Pointy's advice. If they can't make that guarantee, change banks.

Actually I was just curious since it was the first time I had seen it. I promote AuctionPayments/BidPay on my auctions and also list PayingFast (which no one ever uses) - and honestly prefer AP/BP...

I was just asking

wgm...Thanks for starting this thread and the other one about international payment options. You managed to drag in a few posters who are experienced in bank transfers and cleared up a lot of questions I'm sure many of us had about this method of payment. With everyone sharing their knowledge and experience, some of us may wind up accidentally making a profit on Ebay
