Hey Everyone,

I have a handful of New Years 31st-2nd. bidders that have not paid and have not contacted me. Usually everyone contacts me and we move on happily or file NPB when payment does not arrive.

I give everyone 10 days to pay, but they are supposed to email me at let me know how they are paying within 48 hours. Two emails and an invoice later. Nada from any of these guys. So I don't expect to be getting paid.

So I am ready to file the NBP's, relist and move on.If they contact me they would still have the few days to pay.

I think I will be adding to my Tos that if I don't hear from the buyer in 4 days I will relist, etc.

How do you guys handle the people who don't contact you at all about payment. Thanks for your insights.

I've been sending email to my sister in law in the same state, different email service and half of it hasn't been going through.

Try sending it under another email account, through Ebay's ask a question or if you have it, return receipt requested even though they can just answer "no".

And if I get desperate, I have an VD automated letter that I changed the subject line to EBAY FINAL NOTICE and within the letter (I think it's the payment due letter I changed) I say right up front the item will be relisted the following day and negative feedback left if I don't hear from them. Hasn't failed yet. I think it's the EBAY FINAL NOTICE that catches their eye and they have to read it.

Ebay says 7 days.
File the NPB.
Emails don't seem to get their attention.
The NPB from Ebay usually does get their attention.

My TOS says payment must be made in 10 days. On day 8 I send a reminder. If I don't hearin the 10 days I file a NPB. This does wake some up. I always send an eBay invoice ASAP after the end of the auction. This gives them all of options for paying as well as my name & address.

My shipping terms ask payment to be sent within 10 days. I do all my reminders, NPB's and FVF's on Tuesdays (picking one day a week helps me to remember to do them!) If an item has been unpaid for 3 weeks or more, I send a payment reminder through eBays mail system (better chance of getting through to the user). If two more weeks pass, I file a NPB. If two more weeks pass, I file a FVF. This time period works very well for me... but might not work as well for other sellers who don't have as much inventory. Each step I take gets me more payments. By the time I get to the FVF phase, I am down to a very low percentage of non-paying bidders. (and even some of those sometimes pay after the FVF has been filed!) My way may not work well for everyone, though. You just need to find a policy that works well for you.

4 days seems way too soon to relist. I guess it depends on what you sell, but for me, I can wait a little while before relisting. I do NPB usually after 2 weeks, then FVF exactly 10 days later. I don't bother with overdue notices, I figure the NPB IS my overdue payment notice. Most pay after receiving that notice, some don't and that is why I go to FVF as soon as I can. I wish ebay would actually reduce the time from NPB to FVF, 10 days is too long in my opinion.

A) Automated WBN within an hour or two of auction end.

B) Reminder in 8-10 days. No second reminder

C) NPB in 17-20 days

D) FVF as soon as possible afterwards

E) I don't do negs unless someone really ticks me off. The FVFs will get the buyer thrown off eBay long before the negs will.

I send my EOA email as soon as that days auctions all end. If I don't hear from them in 3 days I send the Ebay reminder. After 7 days I file the NPB notice and 10 days after that the FVF notice. So that is 17 days first to last. If they email any time before the FVF date I stop the clock for 10 days to allow for the mail.

The I didn't get your email excuse is no good with me. If I don't get an email from a seller I email them after the first day.

I usually wait a while before giving a neg. The FVF notice from ebay has shaken some up and they want to pay up. I always let them, Ebay will let you give the FVF back.

21 days I send reminder. 30 days file NPB. 10 days later FVF and move on.

I don't worry about them for 3 weeks and 99% pay by then. I took some advice from others here and tried filing after 10 days. Wound up with huge headaches, people mad, people paying after I filed, etc. All could have been avoided by waiting a fair time.

I'm just not that impatient.

If they haven't paid in 21 days, they usually aren't going to so I have very few problems. I do list hundreds a month and all are small dollar items, so whether or not 2 or 3 have paid me in 10 days really doesn't make or break me

It works for me. The only time I ever had a problem was when I was trying to get them to pay fast like others suggested.

It depends.....if they have responded to my WBN and let me know how they are sending the payment, I don't send the NPB until day 11. However, if they don't answer my WBN and my WBN reminder 3 days later, I send the NPB on day 8. Usually this gets their attention. I send the FVC on day 18, no matter what, unless it happens to be a Friday, then I wait until Saturday, just in case. I have had to reverse several FVC's when the payments finally did show up, but sometimes you just never get the money and you just move on.....

My terms state seven days, so on the eighth day I file the NPB. I don't send a "reminder" - they bid on my auction, they should know if they won it. My WBN from Vendio includes my terms, along with payment information and a request to contact me within three days of receipt to confirm payment and address - most do, some don't.

Thanks guys and gals for the input.

I went ahead and filed the NPB's on these guys yesterday. No sense in waiting ten days they are not going to cough up the dough.

As usual they were all items under $10.00. Which is a good thing. The higher the bid the faster they pay.

eauctionmgnt-You sure have patience! I guess you must have a real high volume.

Replay-I agree on not leaving Negs. I would love to,but what good would it do? They will only neg back thanks to Ebay's system. They will still bid. Seller's don't have the time to cancel every bid from a NPB. It was nice to see my problem bidder from 2 weeks ago get NARU.

I usually wait 14 days to file an NPB.

Right now I got one that bid on 7 identical auctions and won em all. I made no provision in the TOS for combined shipping and the guy emailed me wanting to know the total due and he would pay via PayPal. He did get invoices on his wins so I was a little concerned. I did some math and gave him a combined shipping total that saved him a bunch of money. Sent him the email and asked him to pay. He called on Monday trying to chisel the amount further and I told him I reduced the price already to the lowest dollar amount I was willing to go. I reminded him of the fact that he failed to ask me about combining shipping BEFORE he bid and that I already did him a favor. The end of the conversation basically ended up being I'll send you a check. Well no check yet.

Can you say Stupid Bidder Syndrome?

I'll give him 7 Negs at 90 days if he doesn't wake up. LOL.
