I come across with this clear cut link violation of this powerseller and only to find that every auction is in violation of the link policy. You can bet that ebay will do nothing as usual as it is a powerseller. If it were any other non-powerseller, they would be NARU by now.

I wonder if some Vendio posters are as knowledgeable about eBay regulations as they claim.
For example, it is a clear (and long-standing...this is not a new rule) violation to have a link to your website on the auction listing page. You are allowed to have such a link on your AboutMe page, however.
Rather than grousing about this violation, wouldn't it be more effective to report it?

hello:
..this is a powerseller speaking;
..having said that, i am also gonna tell you if you get reported for an infraction, then you deserve it..no one should be able to get away with playing outside the arena..so rather than b---- about someone breaking the rules, REPORT THEM..and dont try to tell me it is useless..
..i have been reported for 3 infractions, in past couple years...2 was not enforced; the other was: summarily cancelled my auctions WITHOUT any notice...and i could give you all kinds of excuses - but i wont - i got caught--its that simple...you get caught when someone turns you in - i just reported someone selling firearms on ebay -- to me, a much more serious offense than floor mats; but you are right, IF the auction is wrong -if you are breaking the rules which you agreed "to play by," ebay should do something about it, and the 24000 other auctions with keyword spamming-search manipulation...

may be ebay has changed its rule?
i thought you could have a link to a webpage as long as it provides more info on the item, not trying to sell you the item outside ebay, also there is a two click rule which i never figure out how it works??
that item webpage looks like it belongs to volvo, not the powerseller.

perhaps this car mat ebay seller is allowed to link to their website because there is nothing for sale AT their website, i.e. you cannot order their mats at their site.

i copy/pasted this from ebay...is not the last paragraph explanatory to what couple thread are saying??
Summary: eBay listings can only be used to facilitate the sale of the listed item. Listings can't refer to or promote the seller's individual Web site, off-eBay sales or other businesses. On the eBay About Me page, however, the seller may promote their individual Web site or business.
The eBay Item page may not contain URLs or links to, or promotional information about, any off-eBay Web page, including Web sites of the seller or any third party.
There are two exceptions to this general rule. An eBay item page may contain a link to information related specifically to that item that:
Acknowledges a company providing services related to that listing (such as counters, listing management tools, or payment services). This acknowledgement may contain a logo (88x33 pixels) and up to 10 words of text (HTML font size 3) but only one of those may be clickable.
Points interested buyers to another Web page that contains nothing other than more information (such as pictures, product specifications or detailed terms and conditions) about eBay items listed by that seller.

his link does point to a webpage provided by volvo on more info on how wonderful the product is.
and if you click one more time,it takes you to more info on the matt,it does have some toll free number to call volvo and where to buy from their dealers.but thats where the 2 click rules come in.
do you mean it is wrong for this seller to aid the ebay bidder to find out where to buy this matt from his local volvo dealer??

stopwhining'
on the contrary; it rather conclusively states that you can link to other page, within the rules you speak of...
i guess my referece to "other threads" was misleading..i in fact, in my opinion, think they[first two threads] are incorrect..
--------------
and i looked up the info, because i am frequently linking my auctions back to my ebay page..always expressely done to give more info, and/or more images on an item..
..i thought you were right to start, but i looked up the rules, then decided to post the c/paste..
sorry if i wasnt clear in my reference to other threads...myoldtoy

Stop,
You idiot. It is clear you simply cannot read what you are looking at.
what did this seller do ?? the webpage is giving more info of the item,it is not selling the item??
Pretty clear to me that they are sending you to purchase the product somewhere else. And it is also clearly not a Volvo Site. Check the PS other auctions.
posted on February 15, 2004 10:11:44 AM new
so it is not a volvo site,it is a site manned by the company which makes the matt.
and it would tell you where to buy from its dealers if you email or call.
to call somone an idiot just for that-you are one #*!@ whore!

AGAIN, THE LAST PPPGH STATES:
"Points interested buyers to another Web page that contains nothing other than more information (such as pictures, product specifications or detailed terms and conditions) about eBay items listed by that seller."
---------------
it seems to me, that you have more problem with someone who addresses, and disagrees with your opinion, than you have with the seller who you are acusing of malpractise in breaking the rules, and also supposedley being so arrogant that "he" can get away with it because he is a "powerseller."

I got warnings because I linked to the belleek site for more info on belleek, seems like the same thing to me. More eBay and that level playing field thing, to me.
I'm researching other auction sites for an eBay replacement. All have their short-comings, just not as glaring and mean-spirited.

I agree 100%!!! A powerseller used several of my pictures on numerous occasions. Ebay did remove the auctions after I notified them, but I believe this seller still uses quite a few pictures from others. It is all about greed.

Myoldidiot,
Did you really look at the website. It is obvious that you did not. It clearly directs you to a location on how to purchase outside of ebay. And opinion. I was not stating an opinion, but the facts that ebay lets powersellers break all the rules with no consequences. And this a clear cut violation that any non-powerseller would have all of their auctions pulled in a heart beat if they did it.
