Just received an email from "Ebay" asking me to update information. Of course, it's fake. Contact "Live Help" to verify that the message came from Ebay before giving any personal information.

This is why I absolutely hate posting to this message board and finally finally got the message -- go home, which I will do and stay with the yahoo Ebay/auction groups who treat a person more civil.

Salga do you go into those groups and ask for help for your class? If so, than that would be the place to go.

Spoofs are getting worse. This one was received by a buyer that doesn't have a credit card on file.

Dear eBay member,

This is an automated message sent to you by eBay Billing Update.

We have recently tried to VeriCharge your credit or debit card we have on record for $0.01, and the charge was declined. The $0.01 charge is only to confirm that the credit or debit card that you submitted to eBay is current. The charge being declined was likely caused by your credit card being over its limit or that the account has been cancelled.

In order for us to keep your account open we need to verify the status of your credit or debit card. In furtherance all flagged accounts will be given a full 48 hours prior to eBay suspending your account. We thank you for your response and look forward to continuing to serve you.

Please click here to proceed to our secure 128 bit SSL encrypted billing server.

Yours sincerely,

Courtney Wagner
eBay Billing Department

Sal, I could go back no more than three weeks and find a dozen threads on eBay spoofs.

The question is: why haven't you already read them?

It's the same question we always ask you. There's this disconnect between what you profess to be and what you do. I doubt any of us are going to stop noticing that.

No one is picking on you.

Signed,

Mr. Melvin

I shall make 90 days of messages visible in My Vendio. It is set at 20 days.

I hope you left a similar message for the others.

Sal..I think the response to your original statement is that those kind of emails are ALWAYS a hoax!! You should not bother "live help" with them..forward to [email protected] if it makes you feel better.
