I found this announcement on Ebay:

Collectibles:
Check out new breakouts in Coin-Op, Banks & Casino, Comics, Decorative Collectibles, Housewares & Kitchenware, Knives, Swords & Blades, Pinbacks, Nodders, Lunchboxes, Postcards & Paper, and Transportation.

I clicked on the link and it is just a full category listing for all categories. I didn't see any changes under postcards but wondered if I just missed them?

It would be nice if they could be a little more specific.

I just checked it out and I don't see any changes (of course it IS 4:30 a.m. and I haven't had my coffee yet).

I hope they don't get more specific! I am already having fits deciding whether to list Hollywood with "LA" or "other California", ditto Beverly Hills, Santa Monica and Long Beach...and then there's trying to know which villages are on Cape Cod and Nantasket....YIKES! It's all "back East" to me!

I have wondered this since they have new catagories.

Do buyers search catagories or by name. I only enter the name of the area I want so does it make a difference?

Yks neglus do you ever sleep????? I enjoy listening to the night radio talk shows so that is one reason I stay up.

I still don't know for sure HOW people do their searches!! I think many don't even know enough to search categories and descriptions or use different abbreviations for their states etc...

As to sleep..did you read the "Addicted to ebay Barbie" auction? C'est moi! I am both an early riser and night owl. I have never needed very much sleep - famous for pulling all nighters ever since college. This may have something to do with caffeine and nicotine . I hate sleeping and figure I will do a lot of it when I die.

"I hate sleeping and figure I will do a lot of it when I die. "
LOL You and I think alike

I have said that exact same thing many many times And, that was even before Ebay! My husband wants to go to bed at 11 every night and sleep till 7. Drives me crazy. Expecially since he would really prefer I keep the same hours as him

Anyway, if they are going to tell us they changed something in "postcards and paper" I wish they would highlight what

I'm waiting for item specifics to kick in and everything go under one category

I remember when Amazon started out. I hated shopping on their site because I couldn't ever find anything. I'm afraid Ebay is heading in the same direction now and I know it will hurt our sales. I don't think anyone really knows how everyone shops on Ebay. Most people just do whatever suits them at the time.

I still browse categories if I'm looking for a bargain. But, if I'm looking for a postcard from Brownwood, Texas then of course, I type that in. But, maybe someone will use Texas, some TX and even some TEX. So, you never know what to do to try and catch as many as possible.

That's why I hated to see item specifics come to the music category. It was one I still browsed by category. I would just go to records, country and then see what is ending today. What used to have 10 pages now has 374 and the first 30 end in 5 minutes so searching "ending today" is over.

I like to see what I can pick up to add to my collection and in that category, I never have any specific item in mind
