I have something like 96 auctions up and running at the moment plus a large number that ended while I was away for couple says on brief vacation. Come back to lots of money in PayPal but most was for auction item only, no shipping. When I contacted bidders re the shipping, they tell me it says in my auction that I ship free inside the US despite the fact that it clearly states in my auction description either shipping costs or TBD. Clearly. But way down at the end of the page, eBay has added a line about free shipping and handling within the US and is telling me that I have to go in and change it. They admit to the mistake but won't do anything to correct it. I checked a couple of my current auctions and yep, that line still there. Boy am I mad. Any suggestions? Ruthie

Do you say anything in the listing ad itself that buyer will pay for shipping ???
All of my auction I have a fixed price stated in the body of the listing ad.
At the very bottom of the ad, ebay has this
Shipping and payment details
Shipping and handling:
Check item description and payment instructions or contact seller for details.
That is an option, you put in yourself, as I remember.
I would email the buyers and say that ebay had a glitch. You can either pay for the shipping or we can cancel the sale.
Your choice.

That's what I would do. Put the blame on Ebay as its their screw up. Mind you the buyers will blame you so just tell them to pay up or file on them.
Send a thank you note to feebay for making your life a living hell.

E bay defaulted that crap to say FREE shipping. You have to reset it and it can only be accessed from your listing page. When you list an auction there are 3 choices. I lost $50.00 last week and a big slug out e mail fight.
Draft an e mail generic and send it out to ALL 96. No free shipping.
Ain't it Funny, that FREE is clean down at the bottom of the page, they find that real easy, But they can't seem to read the FIRST line in your Descriptions.

My X,,,,, buyer expected ME to pay THE $35.00 ups fees. hahahahahaha,,,,,,Get real buddy. He knows there is a shipping fee and he even ignored the handling rate, $22.00. sent the exact price of the ITEM.
Then accuses me of backing out because I did Not get what I thought I should have. I get exactly what I want as of late. I build my auctions that way any bids above that are gravy. E bay for me anyway is not an auction anymore. I sell at what I want.

ruthie - I had a similar problem to this last week. I use eBay invoices for combined shipping, and eBay dropped the s/h off the invoices - so I had people paying right and left with PayPal and no s/h.
I emailed eBay, refunded all the payments and emailed the buyers and explained what had happened. For the most part, the buyers were very nice about it.
I know how absolutely frustrating it is - good luck!

I have a statement in the "stuff" they get when auction ends, to the effect that the buyer must wait to get shipping charges from me before using Paypal. I've had no problems.
