does anybody know any tricks for getting that stunning photo of a chandelier? If I get a decent picture of the detail of the chandelier, it washes out the crystals. If I go for the crystals against the sky and sun, the chanelier disapeers. I want one photo of the light sparkling off the crystals!

Since most people do not hang their chandeliers outside I don't think it's really going to be a big deal. Better to show the actual detail as one would see it hanging in their home.

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?

I agree, glassgrl ... photos taken of a crystal chandlier turns a lot better indoors ... try some shots with and without your flash, and most ideally of all, is if you can 'test' [wired] it and get a photo also of the lamps bulbs all lit on it ...
also, if you can, put both plural and singular in the title ...

Walmart? I once saw a whole area kept hostage by Walmart. Walmart moved in and about 50 Small businesses closed within two years. Now IF walmart goes belly up the whole area is blighted for years. Location Saraland Al (North Mobil)
Therefore radical me don't buy anything at Walmart.....ever....... David
