The big one is here. Saturday May 8th. Get there early for a good parking spot and plan on doing a lot of walking. Bring your granny carts. No need to worry about food or bathroom breaks. That is available on site. Entertainment too.

Blaine, Minnesota if I'm lucky.

I guess stonecold613 needs to clear that one up.

Stone is referring to Blaine, Minnesota (not too far from Minneapolis-St. Paul).

It looks as though Stonecold has gone and is camping out for the night. I hope he doesn't get to wet....

Holy cow that place is huge. I got to roughly 1/3 of the homes this year. I started in the NW corner which I have never been in the past. So now I can say that I have made it to all the homes in the sale. It took 4 years, (second year rain shortened). My oldest daughter stated it is like going to the State Fair except their are garage sales. (commenting on the amount of people there) For those who have never been or are too far away. If you looked at the map, it is a one mile square area. The map this year was somewhat underscored. I found that there were about 30% more sales than were shown with the dots. Although, at the sales, they did have address lists as well, and clearly they weren't marked. Athough, in reality you didn't need to know where the sales were, just a map of the neighborhood as it ended up being about 40% of all the homes having a sale. Many blocks it was every home. If figured we ended up walking about 5 miles. And best of all, it was suppose to rain early, which it didn't and the clouds broke up and it was a beautiful day. Ended up at 72 degrees.

The sales were decent and I did find a bunch of items to sell, plus found a lot of clothing for the girls and Christmas gifts for my Mother and Sister in Law. Yes, I do Christmas shopping year round and have a box I put the gifts in. Then right after Labor day I check to see what I have. Usually by that time, I am pretty close to done.

The food was excellent and port-a-potties were easily accessed. Thank to the neighborhood for that. Only disappointment this year, The Blaine Marching band was a no show this year. Not sure why though. I ran into a band member and he didn't know why either.

They were all out buying stuff to sell on eBay since they had already sold their instruments. j/k

I live in the Mpls./St, Paul area and wanted badly to go, but family time didn't allow. I was bummed. Glad you had fun and that the port-a-potties were accessible.
