In the first photo, is that a crack at 2:00 o'clock? Also, is that a crack in the second photo on the left side in the white area above the artwork?

Yes, it is. There's a tight hairline from the rim down to the join. It continues in a semi-circle upwards.
I listed it on eBay tonight. Despite the hairline, it's a pretty piece and might fit in someone's collection. I wouldn't put it in the microwave, though.
I have the Encyclopedia of British Pottery and Porcelain Marks and it's quite thorough but doesn't show that particular Allertons mark even though it shows 8 other ones.
Yours would have been made 1890 and 1942. I would think maybe 1930's but could be wrong.
One thing to note, egg cup is more common on eBay than eggcup and many sellers use both in their title and description. I don't think yours will come up if a newbie only searchs on egg cup as a title search.
