Well, those of us who live in the northern parts of the US are about 3-4 weekends into garage sale season
There is lots of talk (myself included) about early bird antique dealers, people pricing things off ebay and trying to get a fortune for things, lack of collectibles due to ebay
I have found some amazing items in the past two weeks
Don Garlits, red white and blue 60's musclecar tachometer, worth anout $200, paid $5
2 pair of early 80's Nike Air basketball sneaks, never worn, $2 each pair.....worth....Sky's the limit on these!! cant wait to list them!
80's Bennett skateboard trucks, never mounted, $2, worth $50
Coleman Porta-Potty, never used MIB (of course!), paid $5 worth $55
Harley Davidson 84-90 service manual, paid 50 cents, worth $35

Nine pieces of Belleek for $135.00 Pow, right into the collection. Barstools, books, cheap car parts that will pay well. Seven packages of the right size jockeys for $5.00.
Good for you! Looks like you're doing very well thinking outside the box. The antique-dealer eBay-collectibles box, that is.
Lately, I've been attending every single estate sale held by a lady here in town. We've gotten to know each other and she gives me good prices. I make it a point to buy at least a couple of things at every sale.
Probably a month ago she sold me all the jewelry left at the end for $100, which came out to less than a dime a piece. I've more than quintupled my money on it already and have at least 3/4 of it left. One necklace, branch coral, sold for $132.

micmic: Did you just pee all over yourself when you spotted those Nike's? I would have! I would love to find some of those to list - Good luck - Hope you do stupendously well with them!
Remember, it's not the auction, it's the KEYWORDS in the title.
Who would of ever believed that people search titles and only titles?

glasgirl,
I almost did pee myself!!
I will post a pic (well, you will have to convert it) to a pic, they are amazing!
of course I had to take out your /thumbs/ and then resize it down and host it.......
I found a pair of vintage never been worn Reeboks with the bowling pictures all over them. Paid 10 cents. My DH thought I was crazy to buy them!! They sold for $90+ to Japan.
