What happen to the simple thank you in our lives?
Another seller wrote me after I sold a coffee table and stated they had sold one just like it and would I let them know how I plan to ship and how much it was going to cost etc. I wrote back and gave them the shipper I was using, the weight of the item and where to get a box to ship it in. 5 days have passed and I never got so much as a thank you???
Sorry but I had to write them again to state that a simple thanks would have been nice? Do I expect to much???

No, I really don't think it's too much to ask for. I wouldn't even know where to begin to ship something like a coffee table and would be grateful for any help that someone else gave me.

Some people believe that now they are connected to the great Info Expressway they are entitled to everything they want. I could tell you stories...

There was the parent whose child had been assigned a school paper on a certain type of item I was selling. The parent wanted me to write the child's paper.

There was the casual reference I made on a mailing list that I had lots of surplus widgets, they had no value to me, and I simply throw them out because they take up too much space. Some dingbat castigated me for the waste and demanded that I ship them to her. I was to pay for shipping, of course, and my time in packing, etc, was of no value.

Thanks? You expect thanks? You're just here to serve...

I always thank my buyer when I send them an email when I mail their package. I will bet the 3/4th of them thank me for keeping them posted. I honestly don't expect a thank you per say because all this is a business transaction. What I would like to see is more buyers thank me for the great packaging that I do. That is what makes my day.

Hey Libra63
I sold them nothing - they sold the same thing to someone else - they just wanted to pick my brain - which I allowed just believed there was a chance that I would get some kind of thanks. Takes a lot less time to just say thanks than to give all the information that I did.
But I'm not going to let it worry me too much as I get great feedback all the time about how good my listings are. A lady took they time to write me the following email a few days ago and I really didn't know how to thank her.
"Thank you *so much for responding so quickly. Sadly, the lamp looks to be
too large for what I had intended. What a shame,it sure is lovely. Your
listings are wonderfully coherent, the photos are clear and well composed.
You are a refreshing change from so many eBay sellers who do not take the
time or trouble to use a dictionary, let alone any other reference
materials. I look forward to your future listings.
Thank you"
But at least I tried and invited her to visit my listings anytime.
