As I've stated several time before, I sell Olympic stuff on Ebay. I live near Los Angeles and the day of the torch relay I spent 15 hours following the torch relay trying to get stuff to sell. I found some really rare and interesting things. I started my auctions on Sunday and they end this sunday night. 3 days after the relay was in LA, it was in New York. Some (&*#&$&* was able to get some of the same items I had. I started the really rare things at $.01 knowing the local collectors and the Greeks who were online would push the items to a fair price. This other guy put up his identical pins on 3 day auctions (to beat my end date) and started his at 99.00 with a $150 BIN, and a reserve. He bid up my auctions to $50+. Now that his auctions have ended (all with no bidders) he has retracted his bids on my auctions (bid wrong amount on 5 different items), and all those lovely items that were $50+ are back down to the mid $30s. I am kind of pissed about this... Should I be?

Yes you should be. But I don't know what you can do about it. Do you know this seller? At least he didn't get his price that he wanted thank goodness. He will probably list his after yours go off.

Here is eBays policy on bid retraction. If he states he bid the wrong amount then doesn't he have to rebid. Write eBay and see what they say? You know he couldn't have made a mistake on 5 auctions.

Hello, I assume this would fall under the category of auction interference or bid interference, it seems pretty flagrant.

I think you should detail all of it, auction numbers, his Seller ID, etc., and e-mail it to eBay Safe Harbor, they may take action on it.

Gee,,,,,E bay has a LIMIT to how many retractions that can be made. Itink the highest that was found was right here on this forum something like 60 something and the bidder was happily doing whatever they wanted. e bay did NOTHING. BUT it will show in the (feed back page, I THINK!)they have retracted 5 times.....

my collecting community is pretty small. I am widely known by both my username and my real name. The odds are that he knows I am me... I am not going to file, but I did block him from bidding on my stuff again and I told him I was blocking him pending a reasonable explaination of his actions.

Thanks all

That was clear auction interference!
