I don't know if anyone has mentioned this but I knew Roadsmith was a little worried about having someone find her auctions. Well I came across this feature on a jewelry page. There is a drop down box that says Hightest first, lowest first, ending first etc well there is another one their that says Distance nearest first. If you click on that box it will bring up auctions closest to your zip code. written in black small lettering it say distance shown approximately in miles from your zip code. the the word change. You can click change but nothing really happened but I did check the auctions that came up and they weren't to far from where I lived.
So I think Roadsmith if they are savey enough they will find your auctions. So much for hidden identy.

this took me 4-5 hours one evening (thanks eBay, for setting this as the default rather than allowing us to _choose_ to opt in!), but you can undo this search by distance/zip code feature that eBay set as the default.

when listing a new item, unclick the box to participate in the zip code search and type in your own location information above it. this saves for me on future new auctions.

i manually went in and similarly revised about 5 pages of store items which had launched since this change and took out the zip and the town i'm in. i'm in a small town where at least 3 other people deal in the same items i do, so didn't think it was any of their business what i had for sale, what i wanted for it, etc. search by zip code might be handy if the item involved was, let's say a grand piano with major shipping costs, but it doesn't matter a bit with what i sell.

Thanks, Libra. This stalker doesn't know what categories I'm listing in. She's not particularly interested in any one item I'm listing, just is paranoid that I'm selling old family stuff. So unless she searches for a specific 80-year-old widget, I don't think she'll locate me this way. What she does is look at my auctions in my first (Roadsmith) seller account every week and get crazy over the things I've found in our little town here, thinking they're old family things. Insane situation, but there you are.

But you can't be too careful, and I'm going to selectively do what you've suggested in the case of a few items. Thanks so much.
