Hello everyone !! Does anyone here know anything about rocks/minerals that might be able to help me name this center stone on this neat old belt buckle or are they pretty much just called Agates...As always thanks ! Maybe just a good web page with rocks/mineral would be just the help I need

Looks like all the agate I have seen.

...no body knows the agate I've seen...

No, really, I think you are right.

Yup, agate. A couple of the smaller stones are dendritic agate or moss agate. It's a very unusual buckle - is the metal marked? Could it be silver? With the agates, one thinks Scottish; but the metal work looks like Afghani.

It almost has the shape of a paisley. Could be Indian (India) or Afghani as earthmum said. Definately not Scottish.

Some of the stones do look like moonstone, which is another common Indian stone. They are plentiful and cheap in India, moonstones that is.

This is one of the sites I use when I try to identify stones Hope it helps. (Now let's see if I can create a link below. I had more than one site. If I can find that, I will list it as well

Is the stone translucent? Then it is probably agate..if not, perhaps it is jasper?
