Well, , if yougot it for the .99 opening bid, you'd be getting a bargain: list price for the set is $34.99...
Still, you could pick it up for about $25 at Best Buy or something

look in the dictionary under "fee avoidance" and you'll see this auction.
she puts an ! after stating she charges 27.00 for shipping and supplies...like Im getting a deal LOL.Less than $1.00 for a padded envelope-less then $2.00 for shipping media-not sure what the other 24 or 25 dollars goes for.Must live in the sticks of Virgina and has to use that for gas to put in her 59 Edsel to go to the post office 100 miles away.
In the auction she spells "byer" a number of times, so this is not a typo.Obviously not a member of "mensa" and probably thinks General Lee is fighting for us in Iraq

Looks like this is the first auction where she posts her shipping amount. I checked back a few auctions, and there was no mention of the cost, and one buyer states she should have stated the costs up front. Spelling is so bad, one wonders if it is done on purpose.

I think you are right earthmum, I think the spelling is done on purpose.

About half of her auctions have exhorbitant shipping rates ... yes, she'll probably be asked to take a look at her shipping rates by a very kind eBay staff member, or her auctions closed down. Ha!

EBay has enough staff members to look at this? Hey -they do not even close down auctions when one puts in a web site link.

Probably meant once enuf buyers/potential bidders complain about the ripoff shipping charges, that they would look into it.

The spelling is just as bad in their feedback left for others. Some of the auctions have shipping calculators, and a note that says there's a $5.00 or $10.00 charge in addition to cover seller's fees and packing materials. Sheesh.

While I agree her shipping is way off base, it is posted in her auctions. You have the option to bid or not to bid. Look at it this way, she's probably throwing a lot more business your way - and hopefully mine.

and she is sitting there scratching her head over why she is getting so many lookers on this auction.........poor thing.
people like this is why the rest of us look so good!

Why doesn't she just start the bidding at $28.00 and offer free shipping? It wouldn't look so much like a ripoff then. She's taking a big risk just to avoid less than $1.50 for a FVF.

[the reply]]
sure i will. it is a special edition of the lord of the ring. it come with
4 disks. it is with the dvd shipping and supplies. i hope this help. if
you have any more question please let me know thanks.

..i looked at past auctions; and several of these dvds being currently offered, have been purchased on ebay..ex. lord rings, she paid 17.50, including s/h/i; and c/aguilara, she paid 25.50, total...so the seller just trying to make a buck..
------------------
while her "spelling" is horrible, her terms are specifically/explicitly stated, usually in two places on the auction...granted her specifics are "all over the place," but there is no mistaking her terms...
------------------------------
i also found her fback to be interesting; she has left 84 positives, received only 18 from her buyers; and 50 from people who sold to her...
considering she been in business since, june, seems to me, she got a decent record...

Her reply...

been open. it has 3 disk or 4 i am not sure. it come with the dvd shipping
and supplies. i hope this help. if you have any more question please let

English is most probably not her first language, her phrasing is pretty good but she does not have the intricacies of tense and plurals etc down yet. Hey, she's trying and she takes the time to answer emails, she's honest and polite. That's more than can be said about a lot of sellers these days.
~~~ • ~~~ • ~~~ • ~~~ • ~~~
If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?
I agree with you. English is an extremely difficult language to (two) learn. Their, there; where, wear; fair, fare; just having some fun. We have more words that sound the same and mean something different than any other language. At least she is making an attempt at using the language, which (witch - more fun) is more than I can say for a lot of immigrants. Then, than; effect, affect; it's, its (even those born here (hear) make that mistake!). Hey, this is actually fun! It's enough to pull your hair (hare) out! LOL!
Speaking of fee avoidance. Check out this auction, and while you're at it, check out the sellers feedback!
I give up! See Tom's post below.
I disagree with his negs because his shipping price IS posted clearly in his auctions, however sleazy the charges are, he doesn't try to hide them.
This exaggerated shipping is becoming an epidemic. One bookseller with 55,000 store listings charges 40 cents for a book and $6 shipping.
Shouldn't be long before eBay wakes up and starts taking a cut of the total payment including shipping.
Well, if I could get $27.00 for shipping a $3.85 dollar item I'd roll over in mud and grunt happily. My guess is that she is NOT in the USA and is sending the items from her homeland to a USA shipper who then sends to the buyer. As her shipping charges are clearly posted, it is uo to the buyer who chooses to pay them. 'She' is not to blame. Buyers that pay that amount are part of the reason why most of our commerce is headed overseas. Overseas sellers are offering our idendical merchandise for far less than we can sell it for here--not such a paradox--we probably subsidised them to make it! Gotta run, altough I'd really like to sound off on this, have a happy!
Me, Fuzzy and Kitty had a board meeting,,,Fresh schrimp prices are soaring,,,So Kitty said, raise your shipping rates from a realistic of say $8.95 to like $34.00....everyone else is doing it.
E bay cares less how much you charge. They get their cut and they are happy. (and everyone else should be too)
E bay is (pesently) NOT in the shipping business. Oh, they (for legal reasons state somewhere about shipping rates , but obviously means squat). Charge whatever you please. Bidders don't like it, and the NON Readers don't READ it. Tough! Buy elsewhere.
E bay would have nightmare controlling rates....Refrigerators, Pianos, Cars,,,or a needle.
People with way too much time on their hands run to e bay about shipping rates that are CLEARLY stated......and then to the Fraud DEPT. (which is truly a joke) and then do the dreaded NEGATIVE feed back to WARN others,,,,hahahaha. If the morons READ, there is NO problem, Problem is they actually READ after they SEE the postage rate.......THEN,,,,, whaaaaaaaaaaa, whaaaaaaaaaaaa,,,,,,he ripped me off!!!!
