My husband, very early this a.m. (Calif.) warned me that the internet was slowed to a crawl and wondered if there was a new virus attack. By the time I got to my computer, a few hours later, everything is back to normal. Who knows!

I followed either Microsoft's or Kim Komando's instructions (I forget which) to de-activate Active X in Internet Explorer. There are a few eBay categories that I get the double Active X error message every time I land back on my search page. I just close the messages by clicking on the "x" in the upper right corner of the message and continue brwosing.
It's an irritation that I am willing to put up with to make sure my computer is not subjected to Active X programs that may be malicious. And now that I did that, I don't seem to get any animated banners when i'm brwsing on eBay. May be a coincidence, not sure. I'm not really sure what Active X does. I guess I should find out. It's always something new to learn. Sigh!
A weird thing happened on one auction I clicked on a few weeks ago. One seller's listing had a malicious program that McAfee prevented from downloading to my system. I'm not sure how it's possible, but that appears to be what happened. I exited the page quickly, and should have reported it to eBay, but did not.
