GlassGirl told me what I had been missing and I just had to stop by and add my 2 cents....

sounds to me like Ebay is trying to buy up old systems so they can update their customer support centers in Calcutta!

Its about time they gave up the 8088's and moved into 386's, lol.

Maybe the next phase is to buy your Ebay Edition of a Dell. Preloaded with your spybots, cookies, hotlinks and hot buttons to list, bid and pay.

Just like the Eddie Bauer Edition of the Explorer.

From my mouth to Meg's ear.

(Go USA Eventing!)

This sounds like Uber marketing research.
They get at look at your hard drive and map out your business practices and get a look at whether you listed on other sites, where you buy from, if you "sold" outside of Ebay....

How many people will jump at this and not "scrub" before they ship??? Haven't looked yet, but is there any waiver attached to the terms of sale?

Ah, the slippery slope of privacy versus technology.

My suggestion - put the old one in a corner and use it as a photo frame. Load up a bunch of pictures on a continuous slide show. Decorate the monitor to fit your decor. When it dies, take a hammer to it.
