When I went to look at "what you can get for it" Spybot posted a warning notice about spyware and did I want to block download etc. (yes I did).....so they must be planting crap on your PC when you take a peek too...NO STONE UNTURNED!

Maybe the next phase is to buy your Ebay Edition of a Dell. Preloaded with your spybots, cookies, hotlinks and hot buttons to list, bid and pay.

This sounds like Uber marketing research.
They get at look at your hard drive and map out your business practices and get a look at whether you listed on other sites, where you buy from, if you "sold" outside of Ebay....
How many people will jump at this and not "scrub" before they ship??? Haven't looked yet, but is there any waiver attached to the terms of sale?
Ah, the slippery slope of privacy versus technology.
My suggestion - put the old one in a corner and use it as a photo frame. Load up a bunch of pictures on a continuous slide show. Decorate the monitor to fit your decor. When it dies, take a hammer to it.
