Ralphie's prodigious sniffer was on summer vacation, but he's back in action, raring to go!

But he needs some of your GENEROUS EXPERT opinions about these 3 items:

This Majolica piece is marked with a paprt sticker: "BORDALO PINHEIRO PORTUGAL" & there is a notch in the lid like for a spoon as in a condiment dish.
What do I call this shape/item?

This very pretty bone china looks like a funeral urn for a mouse, as it is only 4" high!
Again, what is this shape/item?

And this huge ITALIAN thingy is a heavy 7.5" tall x 4.75" diameter!
Vase? Cannister? Whaddya??

Also, can anybody make out the backstamp?

THANKS be to ALL of ye!

I think the first one is called hen in a basket or chicken in a baske.

the third one may be a wine cooler

wish Ralphie was with me this morning but then sniffing through stuff covered with roach shitz might not be his style

Hey! THANKS! I think ye be RIGHT about WINE COOLER!

Yeah, I know it's a CHICKEN-IN-A-BASKET, but a CHICKEN-IN-A-BASKET WHAT???

I should have shown that the hencaust is a TWO-PIECE thingy! But, do ya see the notch for a spoon there???

THANKS!

BTW: I asked & he says that Roach-KaKa is not his "cup-of-tea," although he knows some neighborhood cats...

The Chicken:

Since it has a lid with a notch.
It is more than likely a sugar bowl of sorts.
Are there any condiments you would put on chicken exclusively?

I know you don't put sugar of chicken, but I doubt if it's a BBQ sauce dish.

Your chicken is a tureen. Depending on size it could have been made for soup, stew, kibbles and bits---

Tom, the chicken thing looks like what some call a jelly jam or marmaldade jar. But it seems a little shallow for it - how deep is it?
The English also call it a honey pot.

The RD piece might be a toothpick holder?

Good luck with them!

Tis only 2" deep -- 7" x 4" x (bottom dish=2"

TOOTHPICK HOLDER sounds plausable -- I was thinking BUTTON BOWL also??

THANKS EVERYBODY!

In my most humble opinion, that chicken thing is a gravy tureen. My guess, based on the size given, is it holds maybe a pint. Probably had a ladle at some point in its existence...

(This one says its cira 1892,dont know about the r/doultan one tho!)

See, Tom if you want the right answer you will have to pay attention to the size!

I think the Royal Doulton is a small ginger jar missing its lid and there is one that height in the completed auctions. Four inches is a bit too tall for a toothpick holder but that's just my humble opinion.
