Hi!
I got this email, and this one, unlike all the others, looked legitimate...

Dear ICU2 Collectibles,

We regret to inform you that you received funds from an account with
reports of fraudulent bank account use. The transaction listed below is
under review.

Transaction ID: xxxxxxxxxxxx
Transaction Date: Nov. 12, 2004
Transaction Amount: $8.65 USD
Buyer's Email: xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Buyer's Name: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

To help in our investigation, please reply with the following information
within 7 calendar days:

1. The item that was purchased and the value of the item.
2. The name and address given to you by the buyer.
3. Whether or not the purchase has been shipped. (If you have not yet sent
the purchase, please do not proceed with the exchange.)
4. If already shipped, please provide the company used, date of shipment,
and tracking number, so that PayPal can verify the shipment and delivery
online. (For transactions of $250.00 USD or more, you must provide a
proof-of-receipt in the form of a signature from the buyer.)
5. Details of any other payments you sent or received that were related to
the above transaction.
6. Your day and evening phone numbers.

...
I've never had a payment rejected... but that looks like that is what this is... it doesn't ask for my username and password, anyone get one like this?

Steve,

Go directly to your PayPal account. Don't reply or go through the email in any way.

I think there will be a big pink banner at the top for you to see whatever it is that's going on.

You can also forward the email to [email protected]. Then, if PayPal responds that it is legitimate you could reply with the info they're asking for.

I went to my PayPal account... but no banner. So I looked up that transaction, and sure enough, its "Status" is "Held"... I'm pretty sure it's legitimate... I'll see if maybe there's somewhere to respond from my account as opposed to the email...
