Have a nutcase who filed with SquareTrade disputing the quality of an item she received. Said it had scratches and was dirty - yet we have photos to prove otherwise and don't let any of our items go out the door in the condition she described. In fact, we hand wash and clean anything that might have even been dusty from an auction where we got it.

So -- as soon as she receives it, she demands a discount saying that she's used a cleaning solvent on it and her husband would use stain to cover the scratches. She then posts positive feedback, saying we had a problem but that we resolved it. (Auughh!)

Now - some 30+ days later, I get this SquareTrade complaint. Probably because I stopped responding to her e-mails and already blocked her from bidding.

I'd like to hear your suggestions on what you would do or have done with unreasonable demands for discounts after the fact. BTW, she paid with PayPal - but that shouldn't matter now, because she's obviously received it.

I have the option to check a box in the SquareTrade dashboard that says: "No - I don't want you to remove the feedback left for me. If I check that box and respond that I don't want to work through a mediator, will her feedback get removed?

Here's the language:
The filer has requested us conditionally, to withdraw the feedback they have left for you, if any.

Yes, thanks for withdrawing the feedback you left for me, as part of a settlement agreement.

No, I do not want the feedback you left for me withdrawn.

I really would just like her to go away. She received a great product for about 30% of the retail value on other sites. It was in wonderful condition and I think she just wants to get a further discount.

What would you do with SquareTrade? What would you have done overall?

Looking forward to your responses,

Wayne

She left you a positive. After a while it will drop out of sight and no one will know what she wrote. So, I would say no to removing it.

On Square Trade simply state the facts. You can go back and forth with her until the cows come home and Square Trade will do nothing.

If she wants a mediator she will have to pay for it. And you will have to agree to any settlement.

I would ignore and move on. Don't let it stress you.

I collected FVFs on a sale to an Australian buyer. ( I don't ship outside USA) Result was that he was booted off eBay. He then went to Square Trade. I just ignored it.
