are going up. They are too busy investing in company's instead of investing it back into the company.

" ***eBay to Acquire Kurant Assets***
Date: 01/13/05 Time: 03:38:08 PM PST

We are pleased to announce that we have signed an agreement with Kurant, a leading provider of e-business software for small and medium-sized businesses (www.kurant.com), whereby eBay will acquire Kurant’s technology assets, primarily advanced software relating to online stores. The transaction is expected to close in the current quarter.
For more details, please see the press release at http://investor.ebay.com/releases.cfm?Year=2005

Regards,
eBay "

Now, can anyone guess why they would buy this company? What type of plans do they have for this company? Also think back to what they have purchased this past year. I can remember 25% of Craigslist and there was another company but I am experiencing a senior moment.

Maybe this company has a program for a store shopping cart? I think that is on the store development list

"What type of plans do they have for this company?"

Drive it into the ground for the purpose of preventing a competing company from acquiring it.

They can incorporate their software into the ebay module without licencsing fcosts while having the developers at their beck and call for implementation issues while at the same time benefitting from their advanced marketing capabilities to push the product in other marketplaces.

It's a forward thinking business move.

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?

fenix- I'm all for forward thinking, but given the recent modifications at feePay...I'm afraid, very afraid...

Terri - All they did was raise thei prices just like every other business does every couple years. Aren't you glad that at least while they are raising them they are making step to inprove their service.

"...they are making step to inprove their service."

Yeah! Every night, when Ralphie says his prayers, he ALWAYS ends with:

"...and bless Auntie Meg for the Item Not Received Process"

And that exactly what to do with technical improvements of the site? Please!!

Come on Tom - you and Ralphie need to get a grip on the difference between a policy that was put in place to help protect buyers from irreperable sellers but that you mistrusting minds believe will be used to hurt you and technical improvements on a site that you have been screaming for as long as I have been on this board needs technical improvements.

1): WHAT technical improvements???

The super-dooper new-&-improved billing system??

2): WHAT is the need for the NEW Buyer Instant P&M Policy, when they already have feeBay & PayPal wrapped around their finger??

PREDICTION: within 6 mos, PayPal will drop any pretense of a Sellers Protection Plan and adopt the BillPoint policy, which stated: "if a buyer fahts, the seller PAYS"

Kurant makes Storesense.
http://www.storesense.com/merchant/index.shtml

Incredibly complex and obtuse store software.
