Anyone know of any good alternatives to ebay, especially in the jewelry category?. I checked and not much happening in yahoo or amazon auctions....nothing like ebay anyway.

I just sold 4 jewelry items on Overstock, I tried selling them on eBay twice with no bids...there invoice system is a real pita but you can use Paypal(to make this eBay related) to send an invoice if you don't like Overstocks system.

You won't find any alternatives to ebay. They are the giant on the hill. But there are a few that are good sites in addition to ebay.
Yahoo, Overstock are decent but require more hands on to keep the fees from killing you on non-sales.
Epier is a nice site for listing your items with great image hosting and doesn't require any hands on once you list. No listing fees and a very small Final Fee. It also has auto-relist making it a true non-hands on site. Downside is simply no traffic so very few bids. I average 1-2 sales a month there.
Avoid Bidville, Bidway, Auction Addict, ioffer.

I really wish there was a good alternative. There isn't one in the auction business. My advice is to do what I think a lot of people will be considering doing - Move as much of your business off ebay into your own site, and use ebay auctions as a way to gain customers and bring them to your website. My goal is a year from now to have ebay be just a part of my business plan, where a big fee increase will hurt, but won't potentially put me out of business.
