We feel that eBay stomps on their users because they don’t need them to be successful. We want to change that and give eBay users a VOICE THAT WILL BE HEARD.

There are many users that feel they have suffered financial loss unjustly at the hands of eBay and their policies. This can be anything from account suspension, customer service horror stories (we know there are many of these), or the main complaint about selling fees and the recent increase.

We have already talked to lawyers at one of the biggest law firms in the U.S. and they feel we can make a difference if we come together. We are going to present them a number of members that are interested in this so we can move forward.

We are posting this message in the eBay Forums and any other eBay blog we can find. If you have any ideas on where we can get maximum exposure please let us know. Please pass this on any way you can so we can get the word out.

Please email [email protected] and tell us the following information
(DO NOT GIVE ANY PERSONAL ACCOUNT INFORMATION!!!):

(1) How long you have been a member
(2) Estimated Financial Loss
(3) Brief Explanation of Grievance(s)

You can go to http://ebayunion.blogspot.com/ to see the latest news on our endeavourer and post your won thoughts.

Thank you and PLEASE PASS THIS ON.

eBay runs roughshod over it's 'clients' and has been doing so for years. Where have YOU been? Rather than tilting at windmills the wise on-line seller only uses eBay for the exposure to lure in new buyers to more user friendly venues. There is no reason to upset an applecart, if you know which apples are bad.

So take your get rich scheme for some slimy trial lawyer and place it where it won't be exposed to the light of day.

Too harsh? Too bad.

Although Ralphie & I are humming "Look for the Union label...," we're much too busy listing & trying to make a BUCK-A-ROONIE to help you right NOW!

All we are trying to do it compile a list of grievances. We are eBay sellers ourselves and we were hurt by the eBay policies. eBay suspended our account -- DPdiamonds because they thought we were fraud. There was no one to talk to, no one to ask what we can do. All we could do is email them, we no response for a month!!.
I sent in everything I needed to send in for both DPdiamonds. EBay does not get back to us about anything. I have sent 50 emails with no response. I was allowed to open a store and pay but not allowed to advertise. I was giving them money for free. There is no number to call, nothing.
I know there are other users with similar experiences. That is what this is for. Nothing more.

CONTACT [email protected]

BE PERSISTENT AND PUT SOMETHING IN THE TITLE THAT WILL GET THEIR ATTENTION.

THE PROBLEM IS THAT THEY HAVE MINIMUM WAGED EMPLOYEES WHO CANT THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX, TAKING THE COMPLAINTS AND DECIDING YOUR FATE.

WE JUST GOT RIPPED OFF WITH SOME FAKE TRUE RELIGION JEANS.

EBAY DOES NOTHING ABOUT IT

UNBELIEVABLE.

It won't be a union since we are not employes of eBay. It will be an association where users get represented.

Then why did you use the word union? It has a much different, and somewhat inflammatory, connotation.

All we are trying to do it compile a list of grievances.

It sound’s to me like you are not trying to form an association for the benefit of the members, but to seek revenge on ebay over personal matters. This is the wrong reason to form a business venture. Are you out to hurt them or help yourself?

This approach was tried a few years ago by a group that called themselves the Online Auctions Users Association. They are now defunct as to their original goal and I believe any die hard members that remain now form a loosley knit social club consisting of radicals, crackpots and losers that have been NARU'd from Ebay. The reason they never scored a single point in the game was they immediately found that Ebay can ignore a single union of protesters with much less effort than a million users individually clogging their servers with complaints about their own individual problems. You state that this doesn't involve money from anyone, yet you have consulted with the best law firm in the country, or some similar statement. If the attornies you consulted are even half way honest (which is very rare) they will inform you that the best and most qualified attornies in this particular field are already on Ebay's staff. Ebay may hire minimum wage customer service reps, but Meg doesn't skimp when she hires a lawyer. If you have any thoughts of ever getting Ebay into a courtroom and shaking them down for a bundle, then my advice to you is to get a number and take your place at the end on the line. You'll be lucky to get a court date anytime in the next 5 years. If Overstock were run right, they could bring Ebay to their knees in half that time.

Well, why didn't you say that in the first place. Why that changes-----------------NOTHING! Now the truth is out about the origin of your complaint. You were suspended which is one of the three things you mentioned in your previous thread .....

This can be anything from account suspension, customer service horror stories (we know there are many of these), or the main complaint about selling fees and the recent increase.

Didn't get much response on that thread so you started a new one! C'mon! Do your research first, then post! If "DPdiamonds" is your user name, as you state, you've been on for 4 years and only have 74 feedback. Can't say you've sold quantity. May be the high sales put you in the powerseller category but that doesn't indicate your PROFIT level. (DPdiamonds is NARU)

ArtNouveau -- We are not trying to get back at eBay. We are not trying to make money off this. I don’t know how else I can convey that to you. We sincerely believe that the eBay society will benefit from an association like this. Not only would it make the lives of eBay buyers and sellers easier, it will also improve eBay as a company. People who are negative and think they can’t make a difference won’t.

toybuyer – DP Diamonds is a new name I made to sell jewelry. Get a life. I don’t need to explain this to you. I’m sure less cynical and paranoid people get the point to what I’m saying. You’re the type of person who condemns others endeavors then jumps on board after it is up and going! We are looking for people who actually want to make a difference!

DP - If you want to work to form a better ebay, then I would suggest that you work WITHIN the system instead of alienating the powers that be with a lawsuit.

I think there are user groups you can join to beta test new enhancements etc - not sure where or how one goes about getting selected to join this group but maybe that is where you should channel your energies if you want to make a difference and have a say or at least some input in the way ebay operates.

Why dont you email [email protected]? What's that saying, "you catch more flies with honey than vinegar" or something like that(i never was very good with sayings). Seems to me that the only folks profiting from a lawsuit are the lawyers.

You noted, “All we are trying to do it compile a list of grievances” and then you state your sincerity about your interest in the well being of the ebay society. C’mon dpdiamonds, this sounds to me more like the beginnings of a class-action suit than someone out for my best interest. Will you be tacking your grievance list to eBay’s front door? What exactly do you plan on doing with it?

You might really be sincere but I believe you’re also frustrated and misdirected. Most of the millions of people who use ebay every day don’t have a complaint. When they do, they’ll vote collectively with their wallets and you’ll know it. Do AT&T or Pan Am come to mind? How about the current problems in America’s auto industry (all unionized companies by the way)?

Please don’t worry about me or the other members of the ebay “society.” Just understand eBay’s rules and avoid treading in their gray areas (as I suppose you did). My guess is you’ll make more money in the long run by directing your energy toward your own business than by trying to get ebay to change theirs.

I think you have that in reverse. I've been with eBay since they were AuctionWeb and helped form eBay when we were just groups on the AOL boards. Who's really jumping? Like I said, do your research, then coming knocking.

Nobody is FORCING you to use ebay. Don't like their practices? Go somewhere else. Get your own website and pay yourself the fees.

Imagine the windfall of dough you could have if you spent your time earning money rather than chasing your tail. Sheesh.
