Customer pays via pay pal. For anyone of a million reasons deal is not completed. Ie, customer shorts me on total payment. I e mail buyer of the shorted amount. I hear Nothing back,,,,time, alot of time goes by , months. I STILL have the product sitting here waiting for word or payment. One notice is enough. I sent the notice the minute I got payment to send shorted amount.

Is the person Alive? Or has in fact that person died? Let's assume they died.

And OH, as we all know if that were to happen, no one we know could EVER get any information on our behave because they have NO way of knowing our PASSWORDS.

Now,,what do you do with the money? Do you send it back to their Pay pal account?

Guess who REALLY has the money then,,,,PAY PAL.

I just wonder How many millions of dollars are sitting in DEAD pay pal accounts.

Thoughts?

Jack,
The normal proceedure is to deposit the funds into an escrow account that bears interest, until the matter is resolved, or until a reasonable length of time has passed for the matter to be resolved. The account can be established at a bank, savings and loan, credit union, or the corner liquor store. I would recommend the latter, as it draws the most interest, as least for me it does. You can get a case of Jack daniels as collateral for the cash. If you need any help with collateral management, post back here and I'm sure there are many experts who would be more than willing to help.

My suggestion... It depends on the item, but I would either a) donate the item to a charity on their behalf b) donate the money and resell the item. I would first send the bidder an email stating that they need to send the remaining balance within 7 days, otherwise the item or payment will be considered abandoned and will be donated to a local charity. make sure to keep the email and get a receipt for the donation. At that time, you have exhausted your responsibility with this person. It is up to them how they want to handle it.

Linda, Is that what you mean?
