Hi. I found this glass today. Can somebody tell me what it is? -What its used for? It has these spike type blades in the cap, and this key that turns them - is it some kind of older type chopper jar?

I think we had one of those when I was kid - used to grind walnuts I think.

Hi Neglus! Thanks! Walnuts, huh??? lol??!! But how does that work ya suppose - you put them in the cap and crush em and then store them in the glass? I can really see me describing this alright!! lol! (Probably will have to get something to try to remove some of the rust off it first) altho sometimes I think the rusty'er & older looking the thing is the better some collectors like it?
I would leave the rust. Gives it the popular shabby chic look. People with country kitchens like that look. IMO, it's a nut grinder and I think it's great!

I agree with nutmeat grinder.
It is a cool one I haven't seen before. I also agree about "leaving it be. Country kitchens would want the "rustic" decor, not necessarily a functional piece.

ok thanks guys! Nut grinder it is! I really wasnt up for removing the rust so I'm glad to hear you all think to leave it alone. But you know, I will probably never be an antique dealer because *I* dont like old rusty things ! But I know people collect the old hazel atlas glass so ...home it came with me for ebay!
