I need to close my second account but see nowhere on the site map to do that. I've sent a question to them but that'll take a long time. They seem mainly interested in preventing one from closing an account.

Note that there is a link to send email to permanently close account which is why I left the link in

How to close your account

1. First, submit a formal request to permanently close your account.
2. If you've listed or bid on an item recently, eBay requires a waiting period of 180 days before closing your account. During the waiting period, you won't be able to bid, make purchases, list items, or change your contact information--but you'll still have access to your account information.
3. When the waiting period is over, you'll receive an email confirming that your account has been closed. After this, you'll no longer be able to access any part of eBay that requires an account, and your feedback profile will no longer be available to other members.

Notes:

* Before closing your account, be sure that the balance in your seller's account is paid in full or that you've received a refund, if one is due.

* The feedback you've left for other users will not be deleted when you close your account. If your User ID is your email address, you may wish to change your User ID before requesting account closure.

* You might receive email from eBay for up to two weeks after closing your account. After this, eBay will not contact you, except to collect outstanding fees if your account has not been fully paid.

MY NOTE:
I found it amazing that you have to wait 180 days! if you have had "recent" activity in your account.

Thanks! I'm sure that 180-day period is because they hope we'll change our mind, LOL.

Hello Savings and Loan/Bank, I'd like to close my account. No problem, 180 days from now we will gladly cancel your account.

Edited to add,,,they HATE to see those MEMBERSHIP Numbers Drop! Even if they have NEVER had ANY activity. We are 44 Billion members STRONG and our numbers PROOVE it!

Space is Valuable. Dump it ALL at the Swap and start over. [ edited by jackswebb on Jul 11, 2005 04:47 PM ]

Yep, Jack, you're right.

In the meantime, I closed my second Vendio account in the blink of an eye.
