We used to get Ebay sellers who posted on Vendio saying they were suspended by Ebay and when they tried to register under their wife's name or using their office PC,Ebay somehow manage to find out.
What ever happens to these sellers?do they get reinstated?
remember the guy who shipped in a used pizza box??
and the guy who bot from walmart around xmas and tried to resell on ebay some kind of VHS machines ??

I just updated my new website - give me your feedback on it.

I tink you are wrong with new email and user id I've seen and heard of many who got supspended and just loged on this way just got selling and dumped again to loose all listing fees and everything else. Also eBay does not respond to them so can't do shi!

You are correct: registering again once you have been suspended is a very bad idea, indeed.
If eBay catches you -- and they can, you know, track your IP address -- you are suspended for life. No recourse.
It's much better to work through the NARU process with them. If that doesn't solve it, go to San Jose and heave a brick through their window.
Metaphorically, of course.

Fluff is right,
Your IP address is the first thing they look at(proxy and internal)
Go to this site and check out your IP addresses-
http://www.getip.com/
Since 1/2006,Ebay has installed artificial intelligence robot who scans the HUGE Ebay data base looking for offenders, comparing IP addresses, email, credit card, bank account, address, name, feedback numbers.
Now they own Paypal, they can look into your Paypal account too!!

"Your IP address is the first thing they look at(proxy and internal)"
if this were true I would be kicked off all the time or keep getting someone logging in as you from another IP address. I am always logging in at some other computer about 4 different locations in all all with their own ip addys and different type internet connections. Never hear a word as if I and anyone else you would not be able to log in from anywhere except home. I am often out of pocket but keep up with my Ebay stuff from where ever the mood strikes me (Home, brothers X 2 New Mexico, work and other places).
There are always people signing up with a fake real name and different email but it is getting harder to pull that one off. Even identy theft people have credit card numbers and names to use.

Ebay does not care if you log on from different PCs,as long as you are not shillbidding.
They are looking for NARU'D user who comes back with a different ID and shares the same IP address as the NARU'D one/
They are looking for shill bidding activities-
If the bidders share the same IP address as the seller, what conclusion does Ebay draw??

Is shill bidding cause for a permanent suspension? The reason I ask is I recently reported one and he is now NARU'd, but I didn't know if eBay had provisions for allowing them to be reinstated.

Changing your IP address isn't that hard, it would just mean changing your ISP - I agree though that it would be better to work within the system than start over, because while you may not be at fault for the first offense, opening a new account while suspended is definitely something you would be at fault for.

If you have cable or DSl,your IP address is dynamic so it changes everytime you log on and log off,you can find out by going to the site http://www.getip.com/.

Oh, stuff and nonsense!
You are wrong on several points, which must count as some sort of virtuosity, to be able to make multiple material misstatements in one mere sentence.
For a cable modem or DSL user, their IP address may be dynamic but by no means must it be so. SBC, last time I looked, was still selling static addresses. If one intends to run a server, for example, you need a static address.
In addition, even if your IP address is dynamic, it does not change "everytime you log on and log off". If you want to refresh it, powercycle your cable modem or router, along with your PC.

But how many Ebay sellers are running servers,so why muddle up the water?
If you have static addr, you can ask for a new one .

ITS ALL IN THE COOKIES GUYS, They can tell without the isp.
I work with a person on ebay sales that has got themselves in a lot of hot water.
He went to the library to use the connection as well a his fathers house who had a different cable company. within hours he was closed down again and again.
He was suspended for 2 months and until he threaten to take them to small claims so they let him back on with a restriction of $5000 LIFETIME. or till they thought he was ok again.
So then today he was canceled by paypal. they did not want to work with him any more.
I mention all of this because you need to keep your nose clean and follow the rules or if they suspend you you may not get back on.
the people at e-bay run it as they see fit and each time you call you will get someone else with a different idea. you will not get any satisfaction or results.
also i want you to remember that we are talking about a guy who paid $100,000 in ebay fees last year.
He was back to a nobody as soon as he was suspended. They really just will not have anything to do with you when you are suspended.
I also worked with a mega dealer from California a few years back. He was doing 50 to 70 thousand a week. He got into a tiff with ebay and they showed him to door.
The thing here is they don't like to be dealt with in a business manner. you are their invited guests and if they don't want or like you, your out.
So peaches and cream if you get suspended as they will black ball you if you pis.. them off.

tell us more about the COOKIES??
Ebay does not care if you give them 100,000 a year fee or do a million dollars worth of business selling on Ebay.
See,if you are doing such high volume, chances are you are selling new stuff, stuff anyone can order from a manufacturer and you can be replaced.
For example,if they suspend an electronic dealer, how many are waiting to take his place?
PLENTY!!

here you can block ebay ,dont know if it works or not-
In IE 6.0, go to the Tools/Internet Options/Privacy menu. This menu allows you to select how discriminating the browser will be when accepting cookies, based on two factors -- (1) the source of the cookie, and (2) whether the source has a "privacy policy." There are also features for the advanced user, if you'd like to have a greater control over cookies. [more info]

you dont want to block all cookies, then your bank and other sites you frequent would be blocked

Fluffy, I assure you I didn't do this lightly nor did I make a rash decision. I've never done it before and I doubt I would ever do it again.
I won't give details, but I can guarantee you, I KNEW for a FACT this person was shill bidding his own items. He was logging in under his friends ID and bidding on his own items. He didn't do it just once, but multiple times over the past year.

New PO BOX, New Bank account and New Email addy and cell # and you are in. Trust me I did it. Several years ago i got suspended, opened another account with the same addy and was suspened there to. Then I did all the above and was back in, in about 2 wks. I learned my lesson then and ran straight since.
Several months ago I visited my old suspended accounts, email ebay and got the reinstated. Took several years to get them back though. Now I have to many accounts and looking to merge them all into one or two accounts.
What I learned follow the rules and don't get suspended, my reason for getting suspended was the website link and I had one of my competitors report me to ebay every time I submitted an auction without removing the STU@# website link. It finally caught up to me and was suspened but like I said was back in, in a couple of weeks.
By the way this was over 5 or 6 yrs ago have not had any problems since.
