This belonged to my friend's mother who passed away ... it's marked 14K ... I remember her mom was of Jewish faith. Do any of you know what the symbol in the center is? ... maybe has something to do with their religion, or maybe Masonic?

TIA,
marcia

It's definately not the Greek symbol Pi as it has a short stroke on the upper crossbar so it'll be Hebrew (and my Farsi doesn't help).

Looks to me-&-Ralphie as a stylized Star of David with a Hebrew letter inside...

Did some searching online. Found some sites with good info on Hebrew letters. There are a couple of letters that look kind of like the one on the necklace. Take a look here. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hebrew_alphabet
and here http://www.jewfaq.org/alephbet.htm

received e'mail from a lady who tells us this: "The word chai (which is made of two Hebrew letters) in the middle of the Star of David means living or life in Hebrew."

see, i told you it wasn't Masonic!
