When is the Power Seller Discount to begin? I just received my new invoice, no discount.

It already did, Bill. I lost my status, but before I did I was getting discounts on FVFs.

I just found this -

"PowerSellers in the United States or Canada will start getting Final Value Fees discounts on April 2008, based on their detailed seller ratings (DSRs) for the last 30 days. Discounts will apply to listings started on or after February 20, 2008."

"11. When and how will I start seeing the discounts?

If you qualify for the PowerSeller fee discounts, you will see them on your monthly invoice applied to the Final Value Fees for your previous month sales. The first time you receive your discounts, here's how it will work:
If you receive your invoice on the 1st of each month, you will see your first discounts on your April 1, 2008 invoice applied to your sales from listings started on or after February 20, 2008.
If you receive your invoice on the 16th of each month, you will see your first discounts on your April 16, 2008 invoice applied to your sales from listings started on or after February 20, 2008
After your April 2008 invoice, here's how it will work:
If you receive your invoice on the 1st of each month, you will see your discounts on the first of each month invoice (beginning May 1, 2008) applied to your transactions on or after April 1, 2008.
If you receive your invoice on the 16th of each month, you will see your discounts on the first of each month invoice (beginning May 16, 2008) applied to your transactions on or after April 16, 2008."

I just looked at my invoice for transactions the past week (23 pages!) and the FVF was charged at the new rate . I don't know what you were seeing Cheryl but it couldn't have been the FVF discount.

Oh, who knows what I was seeing? LOL! I've been so tired lately I may have been seeing flying pigs. Sorry about that, Bill. Guess I have too much on my plate. Between Ebay, my non-profit, Avon and my trading assistant jobs I'm seeing double.

How are those trading assistant jobs doing for you?

They said it won't show up until April.

I am assuming that, with all the conditions,
the discount won't show or be applied until the billing cycle ends.

Cash - It's going quite well. I have three steady customers now. I'm seeing the third one for the first time next week. She's got everything from vintage jewelry to vintage clothing to art. Can't wait. I'm in a lull until after Easter, though.

We've been a PowerSeller on and off again for donkey's years. As we sell almost 99% internationally, we found it pays to go with the UK eBay site for several reasons. Lower listing fees, higher closing prices and easy access to bank transfers (less need for expensive, risky card acceptance). With the new rewards scheme in the UK we can get FVF discounts of up to 40%, depending on sales volume and a 4.6 DSR. Discounts for PowerSeller on eBay UK start at 20% so it's good from where we stand.

Cheryl,If you get word-of-mouth going, it might become a larger and larger part of your business. With the economy going the way that it is, there should be more customers (i.e., by that I mean consignors) over time.

Good luck!

Cheryl and Cash-I am visiting with my first consignor this Sat. I made a managment decision not to buy any more "stuff" I own to much already and don't need to sit on any more. This lady is someone I have known all my life. Shes very wealthy has wonderful stuff and is 87 and needs to get it gone. Her children have taken everything they want.Do either of you have any good advise? Cash do I remember in my cobwebs that you wrote a book on this?

So we won't see anything on our current activity until next month and then it will be in a lump sum??
Hopefully ebay will be honest about this because it's too time comsuming to recalculate it on each item.

I got mine. I saved more with referals than with the 15% discount.

Got mine - same reaction as rhpepsi - would gladly give this paltry, meaningless gesture up if they would lose the star system. I have a lot of experience motivating sales people, eBay apparently does not. I'm sorry, I've always left feedback first, never have left retaliatory feedback, figure my negs are probably deserved (if not by the ones who left the neg, then by the kinder, gentler souls who should have, but didn't). I can't bring myself to pander for feedback, unless it seriously affects my search ranking. Fluff, what are you thinking?

I got my discount..I think it's great. I don't like the rating system, but I love the discount! I love not paying for the gallery as well. For us, it's really lowered our ebay bill.
