Has anyone with an ebay store had any luck with the Store Referral Credits?

What are store referral credits?

"The Store Referral Credit is a credit that Store sellers are eligible to receive when they successfully drive buyers to their eBay Store directly from a location outside of eBay. With Store Referral Credit, eBay will give you a 75% credit on your Final Value Fees when your marketing efforts generate sales of your Store Inventory format listings."

An ideal situation would be from your Vendio store. However it isn't so. When I suggested that Vendio work with us, so that we could attach referral links to ebay store items displayed in our Vendio store, the suggestion fell into that black hole known as "Product Manager Review."

Any suggestions. Where are you placing your links?

I get some every now and then...some I think must come from EO people because my sig has refid on it. I have a GoDaddy domain pointed to my EBay store with the refid - that's the url I give in my packing list. I don't get that many but BOY what a savings! (75%)

Also, if you use Google store connector and people find you through Google, you get the FVF 75% refund.

I get a few referral credits here and there and like neglus said, "Boy what a savings!"

I have the link in all my post sale emails, and any where else I can think to put it.
Yet when I look at the items that generated them, the bidders are usually no one that had received any of those links.

I just looked up google search connector, and see that it requires a download. Are there any negatives to downloading this?

Thanks,
Susan

The items carry a different URL ending when found on Google Shopping. These are the items which are loaded through Google Base Connector.

The same with Google search.

...........viewitem?refid=store

I thought that the URL should end in ?refid=username, or &refid=username.

I didn't know we got store referral for Google purchases! I would think Google would want to get in on the affliate action..but if so, great!

The only drawback about the Google Store Connector is that many say it isn't working for them right now - works for me. Also it saves some gigundo files on your computer so you will need to go in an purge them every so often (they are not needed after the upload).

I just did some quick research on the google store connector site, and apparently if you go to the Listing Feeds section in eBay's Manage my Store,
and click on "Make a file of your Store Inventory listings available", it creates a google store connector automatically.

I guess that explains my occassional referral credit, since I already had it checked.

I LOVE store referral credits! Most months they usually cover the subscription cost and listing fees in my ebay store.

I have store ref link in emails, "ME" page and at the bottom of each listing page. And yes, the link code is http://www.ebaystores.com/YourEbayStoreName?refid=store

That is, your ebay store name followed by ?refid=store, no spaces.

After you activate your store file, you have to run Google Store Connect to upload your listing to Google base. It is not done automatically.

People may find your listings in a Google search if you are lucky but it is getting harder and harder to get my ebay listings to show up in the first few pages.

My Store connector link stopped working last month and I have yet to find a thread where eBay or Google will take ownership of the problem.

Like everyone else who is having trouble with Store Connector, I am getting the error:
error type="data" field="image_link" reason="There was a problem finding the specified image."

I created a listing without a gallery image and it uploads thru Store Connector fine. Funny that Store Connector stopped working about the time eBay made gallery free.

Store Connnector still works OK for me. My biggest gripe is that there is no status indicator. I think it's frozen and not working, while in reality, it was working away. A glitch, I suppose in the beta version.

There is a Google connect group on Google and the work around seems to be uninstall Google connector, make sure all those files are gone and then re-install. Run small groups of your listings (under 300) and you may have better luck.

Pixiamom - my version of Store Connector does have a status indicator - it runs VERY slowly however. It must copy all the files to our pc's and then upload to Google every time we run it. Running it more frequently does not shorten the time it takes (I have +/- 8500 items and it takes several hours to run with broadband connection). I wouldn't recommend changing versions if it still works for you because of all the problems others have been reporting.

I did the uninstall and loaded the latest version.

Tried just uploading one category at a time, then 10 items at a time. The only thing I can get to load is listings with no gallery picture.

Maybe I missed deleting some of the google files on my system. Any one know where they might be hiding?

I'll run a scan and search for "google"

LtRay - are you saying that your store referrals come from the links in your listings and "Me" page? I thought that folks had to use the link to ENTER ebay and could not already be signed in in order for the FVF credit to apply.

I can't say for sure that I am getting credits from clicks on my links if they are already signed into ebay.

However if you have the links everywhere you can think to plant them, when someone finds you with a net search they often click the link and then you will receive the credit.

Blogs, "Me" page and eBay My World pages are all indexed into net searches now.
