Cash Is the book available? Bonnie
copied and pasted from another thread:
Cheryl and Cash-I am visiting with my first consignor this Sat. I made a managment decision not to buy any more "stuff" I own to much already and don't need to sit on any more. This lady is someone I have known all my life. Shes very wealthy has wonderful stuff and is 87 and needs to get it gone. Her children have taken everything they want.Do either of you have any good advise? Cash do I remember in my cobwebs that you wrote a book on this?

Make sure you have a good consignment agreement and make sure they give you a list of what you are receiving and the minimum they want for the items. I have found that this saves a lot of "well you sold it too low" problems for me. I have a pretty good agreement if you want to copy it. I'm sure cash does as well.
I enjoy selling for others. Like you, I have too many things as it is and I really don't want to buy anymore.

Over time, you develop a feel for what kind of seller you have. Some are practical types, and realize that as long as you've described an item well and photographed it well, the price it gets on eBay is what it is worth (on eBay). I usually convince them to go $1/NR or something similar.
Others confuse their sentimental attachments to items as reflecting intrinsic value. This happens a lot in the real estate market also. They're trouble waiting to happen, but they can be worked on.

Thank you both for your suggestions and help. Cheryl I would very much like to see your contract if you don't mind. Cash I'm going off to your book site.
