Nope... not a good deal... even if you do have thousands of items...

I currently have over 16,000 items on my website which is hosted by ValueWeb. Their charge? The same $39.95 a month hosting fee... but there isn't any transaction fee, and there's no $0.05 per item listing fee for third party services. I can send all my listings over to GoogleBase through an automated feed... and if I want to list on eBay... all I pay are the eBay fees.

Not to mention... if you're sick of dealing with eBay rules and regulations... getting into business with Microsoft probably won't make you feel much better...

(They also only have phone support free for 30 days... ValueWeb has completely free phone support)

Plus... they don't offer SSL which is pretty important when you're taking customer information (in my opinion). Not to mention, I can't see anywhere their actual specs of what you get (space wise, data transfer, etc...) And then... keep in mind it's a beta to boot!

I understand that GoDaddy is also a good value. Right now I only use them to host my pics. That's only 3.99/mo. My domain name costs me 9.99 per year. I was going to look into their "store" program, but haven't had the chance to.

ecrater has no monthly fee and a free domain. It's tough to beat that.
