Roadsmith...might want to send the photo to replacements.com. I've sent several photos of unknown maker/patterns and found them to be extremely helpful. Good luck!

I mentioned this in another thread, I think it's pretty crappy to have replacements.com do your pattern identification for you if you have no intention of buying from them. On the other hand - you would think they would put something in place to cut down on this type of thing.

I agree with half of what you said, caroline...if replacements objected to offering help and assistance, they'd take steps to stop it. Perhaps they're just being smart retailers and getting folks into their "establishment". Visitors frequently turn into buyers.

Road, I was told a number of years ago by a glass only dealer that department stores had blanks from several companies and had glass cutters on hand on certain days of the month. Clients would come in pick out their stems and select a pattern for the person to cut. It was a way for stores to encourage shoppers to "come on in." This information was repeated to me by an older lady in Denver years later when I was doing a "in home buy" from her. She had a set and when I asked about it she told me the same thing. In my experience, the only way you can tell which company did the blank is by the shape of the stem. In Gene Florence's Elegant Glassware book Depression era, he has very good photos of stems. It has been my best resource for years. Hope this information helps you.
