How 'bout that.

It's pretty easy to get started selling there if you haven't already. Bonanzle will import your items and feedback from eBay.

Is it the eBay beater? Probably not. These guys don't seem interested in spending much money to promote the site. But it does have kind of a cool laidback vibe that is appealing.

That's great you sold something there, Fluffy.

ebay needs some competition, besides Amazon.com.

That's the first time I've heard of Bonanzle, but here's a link:

More sales on Bonanzle today.

They have a contest running now. If you're currently signed up with Bonanzle, you can send invites through their mail system to your friends. You get (I think it is) five raffle tickets for every friend who signs up.

Spamming is highly discouraged and they promise they won't retain the information.

Here's the link to the invite page (for current Bonanzlers):

And here's the link to the Bonanzle Blog, where you can see I just missed (darn!) winning this week's prize:

And I didn't even get Miss Congeniality.

I like the Changes page. I wish other auction sites did similar.

Well, if you bought a time machine (try Amazon, it's too hard to find anything on eBay these days) you could go back to the very beginnings of a tiny site called AuctionWeb. Even after the name changed, actual useful information was posted about what was happening on the site. At least for a while, anyway. Even during one four-day outage, info was updated somewhat.

Of course that has long since vanished like a popped soap bubble or like Pierre. It's been corporate doublespeak for years.

But yeah, the Bonanzle changes page is cool.

9/17.
24 hours spent watching all 24 episodes of "24."

9/11.
Rebuilt the server that updates the other server (on the server that built the server that updates the other server (anything for server service)).

8/20.
Fit six small ice cubes in mouth at once.

C'mon guys, head over there and tell us what you think. It's not eBay, never will be eBay and that's a goood thing.

Encouraged by Fluff's comments I went over and had a look at Bonanzle. I really like the look and feel at their site and decided to give it a try. I had a few questions for the support folks and sent them an email. I received a friendly, personalized answer (no cut and paste form email) from a real human being in less than five minutes! My question was answered clearly and the tech even took the initiative to fix the problem without my needing to ask. I know that Bonanzle is a new site, eager to please and hoping to gain market share, and this may in part explain this high quality customer service. I'm deeply impressed though and looking forward to seeing our items moved over in order to give this site a try. The only thing that would make this scenario better would be if Bonanzle was integrated with Vendio.

Fluff...couple of questions you may be able to answer about Bonanzle;

#1 Did you "transfer" items from ebay to there?

#2 If so, did you have to edit each one?

#3 They give the option of CALCULATED shipping through USPS...does this give the BUYER the choice of 1st class - media mail - priority? or is it limited?

#4 Their categories are okay, but sub-categories are limited. Ex. Postcards...would all be grouped together, think they may expand something like that in the future?
