It's about a 1/2 inch and is unmarked but test 14K. The stone is a garnet, I believe. Could it be hair jewelry?

It is a screw type tie tac. There are collectors for these, but I think they would ruin any tie.

WOW one of those in the listing looked like it could be gold. They sold it way to cheap (IMO) as mine weights a gram and with the cost of gold right now that's about $37 dollars scrap value.
