At a press conference being held right now in Melbourne, Australia, the Prime Minister has just made the announcement that a substantial number of Australian troops, including the SAS, planes and equipment are to be immediately mobilised to assist the USA in operations in the War Against Terrorism in Afghanistan and the immediate region.
The final destinations and tactical use of the Australian Force is being kept secret for military reasons.

Hopefully, the "other side" will start taking this war seriously, with more countries willing to join the US. I believe all those (real or fake) Anthrax threats are putting terrorism in focus for the rest of the world. Not every country has a New York, but every country has people, millions of people, in potential danger.

I just hope though, the the US starts aiming more carefully at their target First, a UN center, (was it?); now a food distribution center...Makes it hard to believe that we in fact DID NOT bomb a civilian village, by "mistake"...

Edited UBB...

You cook off a big ammo dump it causes damage. I had a friend worked in a tin shack in Vietnam and a big ammo dump went up miles away and it blew the shack right over.

They have already hit one ammo dump there in Afganistan that the secondary explosions continued for seven hours after the strike.

Frnkly they are lucky they don't have a glassy crater about 4 miles across where Kabul used to be.

Today they're reporting that nastier weapons are being used, specifically the big gunships. If this continues, they'll be needing ground troops to direct the REAL nasty stuff. My college roommate's brother was in Spec. Forces in Vietnam calling in "arc light" missions. Can fuel-air wweapons be next?

I believe the Taliban will discover we're not the freakin' Russians.
