As horrible as it is that this happened, when people in jail start breaking the law you just have to know that America has really gone to the dogs.

Do you think that's new? Beating fellow inmates up, killing them, etc has been around ever since prisons opened. The only reason this made the news is because the victim is Pakistani.

Well, you see, the other prisoners were ANGRY...they were AMERICANS whose country had been ATTACKED and they just weren't in the mood to be thinking PC. So of course they should just go ahead & do that sort of thing. turning sarcasm off now

Well, I certianly think they should be thrown in jail for this. If they get off the hook, I will be furious.

I agree, they shouldn't do things like that, but if someone is in jail, it usually means they have no respect for the law, doesn't it?
Should we expect them to have respect for each other? Dohh! on us if we do!

Bunnicula, you make sure you keep that sarcasm handy, just in case someone on this board has a kid in the service that gets caught, attacked and dragged through the afghani streets nakid and beaten to a pulp for the cameras. Im sure your wit will come in handy then. After all, the afghani's wont bother with PC either. They are ANGRY, dontcha know.

People in jail despertly need to feel that they are better than SOMEBODY. Society in jail is very stratified. Child molestors are at the very bottom rung. If you can not defend yourself physically it is a very good idea to stay out of jail. I myself have had the experience of being put in a cell with two drunk combative sailers because the cops thought it would be amusing. The only way to be really safe in jail is for everyone including the guards to think you are a sociopath.
