In America, United Airlines leads the pack.

The weapon has a very limited range and sends one contact straight ahead and another down at an angle. If you tilt the weapon off the vertical the bottom dart can easy miss. It requires training and it is not usable unless the full torso is exposed to fire. If someone is looking over a seat back or from behind a doorway it is useless.
Inside a plane I would take a epee, a 20 oz hammer, or a short baseball bat anyday.

I would arm the cockpit crew with a short barrelled 12 gage and my favorite load - brazing rod cut in 3/4 inch lengths. They turn sideways and tumble spreading faster than shot. At close range the result is instant hamburger.

For the safety of the aircraft's sake, Gravid, I would arm the necessary personnel with battery-operated Sawz-alls. Hamburger without the risk of blowing a hole in the plane...

Everyone on board ~ passengers and crew~ should be issued a nice 9mm. That way it would all be even steven.
Maybe the captain should have an Uzi.

I dislike the notion that pilots have to double-up as armed security. If airlines and airports cannot assure us of our safety from mad bombers and the like, then we should not be relying upon skilled Arial pilots to do the work. If I'm in an airplane, I don't want the pilot's mind on security while trying to fly the damned thing. The answer lies elsewhere IMO.

Yeah. We should all fly buck naked. No more worry about carrying concealed weapons aboard.

gravid- The taser is accurate up to about 15 feet and an inexpensive laser sight is available. Not much training is required. It is quite surprising that the device has not been used more frequently to subdue perps who do not have guns.

KatyD! Hi!

I won't do it unless I can have a saran wrap wrap. Don't want to be completely naked. Gets cold up there. Besides, something has to hold some of these things up.

Never have liked 9mm.
They punch a neat hole through the target and unfortunatly it may take 10 or 15 seconds for the person to realize they are dead. Meanwhile they may hurt you.
I don't carry anymore but when I did it was a .45 - You hit someone with it it knocks them on their butt and rolls them over. They won't be getting off another shot or two.
Pistols decompress planes too easy unless you use special sintered rounds.
One reason I like the wire load in a shotgun is it does not send many pieces through drywall. If you ever let loose with 00 shot indoors it gets expensive replacing all the drywall - carpet - doors - windows - lightfixtures - windows. Just a mess.

hi katyd.

My husband also suggested this a few weeks ago to me. I told him I'd have the flight to myself, as everyone else would run screaming from the airport in fear.

Saran Wrap? You're so naughty Rawbunz.
