It's no longer a fear of God, it's a fear of They. Actually, it's always been a fear of They that has caused so many problems. In the old days, it was easier to blame it on God, who, is usually described as "all around, everywhere, and in your head knowing your very thoughts". That's enough to make even the most innocent into a raving lunatic!

Anybody rebellious is a psycho. Anybody willing to put themselves on the line to make a point is a super-psycho, aka "mental", I mean if they are lucky.
I'm not making a call yet, but I'm not sure the kid was't speaking in metaphors.

Both of those kids were idiots. One took innocent lives, the other one attempted to. Both were very mixed up. The first one got mixed up from killing in live combat -- seeing the person die by his own hand; cracke dhis mind and it stayed cracked. The other has gotten his facts mixed up and targeted the only expression of government that kids are familiar with: the U.S. Postal Service. Neither one has evoked much sympathy.
Like the Charm Merchant said behind his booth at the bazaar to a customer one day: "I can sell you a Charm to protect you against Evil; but only the gods can protect you from Stupidity."

In any event these were two of the "least likely to" and have similar wholesome backgrounds. Now I know this is a stretch, but can anybody view this as a social symptom or as just two aberrations?
By the way, wasn't some author going to write a book on McVeigh?
