George W. Bush, Jr. is a Deserter, plain and simple. When the going got tough - he ran away!

So, what kind of an image is this that the troops will have, knowing that their own Commander-in-Cheif is a fyll-blown Deserter? How will they have the Will to Fight when their own President is a Coward?

What will children think of going into the millitary service? What if THEY desert too? Will they be punished for it? SHOULD they be punished for it? After all, George W. Bush, Jr. not only DESERTED, but he also never received any punishment for it! How can we punish deserters on the battlefield when the Command-in-Chief is the Chief Coward in command?

A Deserting Coward. We've had Presidents who've avoided the Draft. We've even had popular political radio commentators avoid the draft, like Rush Limbaugh, who got a draft deferment due to him having a pimple on his ass! But this - this "president", he signed up, did some duty, then RAN AWAY! Americans everywhere are ASHAMED to have him as Commander-in-Chief!

How can ANYBODY give any respect for that UNPUNISHED COWARD DESERTER?

It's a plain fact that Bush is a DESERTER. Why aren't Bush's Supporters in here to explain it? Are THEY cowards too? Or is it that they really can't support or stomach a President who is such a COWARDLY DESERTER?

Think about this the next time that you see them insulting other Presidents to try to defend this Coward Deserter! What kind of a Man would defend such a Cowardly Deserter who wants to go to War? Think about that too!

Scum!

Why start a new thread on a topic tha is already beong hashed over under the topic of "Want to bet he Reneges again?"

You must not want anyone else to see the Bush republican comments about the previous CIC who dodged the draft by running away to England.

No. You are welcome to cut and paste the contents here, since I was trying to avoid derailing your thread. However, you insisted on keeping it going there.

But please feel free to cut and paste your tirade against ex-presidents. it doesn't change one wit the truth about NOW. Right NOW, we have an appointed President who COWARDLY ran away from Duty for a YEAR and didn't go to Leavenworth Military Prison in Kansas, like anyone else would have for the same offence. Clinton is not in charge of this Presidency, so what he did is as relevant as your slamming President Monroe. Bush is the Commander-in-Chief and that is the ONLY relevant thing to this upcoming WAR with Iraq and the continuing War with Al-Queda and Terrorism! It is not Clinton in charge - it's BUSH! And that means that we have a COWARDLY DESERTER sending in our Brave Men and Women to DIE on the battlefield! How do they FEEL knowing that the Big Boss is a Big Coward? Huh?

And if you cut and paste your slams against Clinton in here - irrelevant that they are, I will then cut and paste parts from that article that lead to showing how ALL OF THE WHITE HOUSE IS MADE UP OF COWARDS AND DESERTERS! Along with MOST of the GOP in Congress! So, go ahead! Post away about Clinton's penis!

LIAR and DESERTER!

Well, yes. But those would seem to be among his better qualities.

The nation's doomed.

I'm not sure it is terribly important if the military has any deep seated real respect for the president.

What I am wondering and think I will get to see is if the military when used for law enforcement will stand and fire on civilians in their own country.

I don't have much hope they won't as it has always been a common thing in other countries.

Then the new question will be if you can be a soldier and go home on leave or walk down the street off duty unarmed after the military is used for political repression. In a lot of countries solitary soldiers that have massacred civilians disappear if they don't go in groups.

The many active duty military personnel I've talked to the the past 6 months (approx 200 a month) have stated that if they could serve under the previous incompetent anti military CIC, they can continue to serve this CIC.

The retired military personnel I work with have stated that the main cause they chose to retire was the lack of support they received from the previous administration. These are people who had hoped to spend another 10 to 15 years proudly serving their country. They are commonly known as LIFERS.

Of course the majority will not believe it & figure I'm just bashing Clinton again.

If you really think you'll ever see armed military troops policing the streets of the US, you need to awaken from your nightmare. Face reality, it will never happen.

Reforming the Military?

The Truth is that Bush has made every attempt possible to mistreat the military and veterans

News today...

http://www.govexec.com/dailyfed/1102/111502t2.htm

Earlier versions of the bill included a “concurrent receipt,” plan, which allowed disability pay on top of retirement pay for all disabled military retirees, but the Bush administration had threatened to veto the bill if that provision was included, angering veterans’ groups and some legislators.

“Unfortunately, under pressure from the Bush White House, the bill's conferees dropped the ball when it came time to help our disabled retirees,” said Rep. Ciro Rodriguez, D-Texas, who serves on the House Armed Services Committee and the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee. “Though the bill includes nominal changes to the current restrictions on 'concurrent receipt' of disability benefits and retirement pay, the changes won't really help. It's truly a shame that we again missed this opportunity to do the right thing by our disabled retirees.”

Fair play for disabled veterans

>I'm not sure it is terribly important if the military has any deep seated real respect for the president.

As you stated before, gravid, that you've never been inthe millitary, I'll tell you that it does make all of the difference. We are not a tyranny or dictatorship, we are a Democracy and that means that the Commander-in-Chief is fit to command and is someone that they can look up to when on the battlefield and wondering Why they are there at all. While Clinton could not inspire confidence due to his deferrment, certainly outright Cowardance and Desertion on the part of this President is likely to be monumentally important. Should our troops ever learn about the facts, it is likely that the millitary would turn against him, Bush, not meaning the Presidency.

I was on CNN yesterday and watching a Talking Heads politics show. For a final, really last comment in the half hour segment, the Democrat got in the parting comment that Bush had been A.W.O.L. The commentator in charge of the program quickly turned to her and calmy stated, "We won't talk about that!" and then he turned his head away without waiting for a response and urged another person to go ahead with a final quip. Yup. There's the media's input on the matter. Too ~HOT~ to talk about!

Thanks for the input. I just sort of figured people in the military follow orders no matter what they think of the people they are coming from. I have no idea what it would take to make them decide not to do so. The penalties are pretty harsh. I can see it would drive people out but I thought it might take firing on civilians to really make some rebel while still on duty. From what my dad and uncles told me of their service there were a few that wanted to shoot someone and the officers knew who to use for such duty. For example my one uncle served in the pacific and he said when they got prisoners the officer would give them to this fellow and say take them to the beach. But the beach was a couple hour hike away and he'd tell him to be back in 15 minutes. So the guy would walk them off out of sight and everybody knew he was just shooting them. Once he gave them to the wrong guy and he did march them all the way down to the beach and took the flak for being late.

That's very true gravid. But imagine youreself on the battlefield. Laws and Rules have very little to do with you risking your life, as red hot bits of metal flashes by from terrific explosions nearby and you can be certain that someone really is trying to kill you right now! You have a choice: Kill or Be Killed - or Run Away! However, if you run away, that's against the law -- right? But if your own Commander-in-Chief ran away, deserted, and then didn't get punished for it, how does that make you FEEL? What thoughts are going on in your mind when the enemy does a bonzai charge at you? Do you see what effect it would have?
