I can't stand beets. I hate them.

I also hate when I am driving at night and a skunk runs out in front of the car.

However, I do have human respect for all people. I don't care who they sleep with or who they marry.

Talk about beets. . .my boyfriend loves pickled eggs and makes them constantly. I have to live with a jar full of them everyday. Yuk! We also have a resident skunk that leaves it's scent all over the neighborhood every year. Would love to get that bugger and have him taken down to the park where he belongs.

cblev- Leave some pickled eggs out for the skunk to eat. As bad as they smell it should be an improvement.

I don't mind a skunk or two. They rummage thru the compost heap looking for grubs and aerate it nicely. It's the raccoons I'm constantly at war with. This past fall, after trapping and relocating a dozen of them into a new "planned community" about 10 miles from here, I got tired of the nitely runs and just started shooting them. There were so many that our resident cougar couldn't keep up with the population control...my pleasure to help her a bit. Anyone need a Davey Crockett hat?

As far as beets go, they are right up there on my list along with Miracle Whip and cheese that comes in a spray can...yecch!

And here I thought I was the only one that hates Miracle Whip. It has always reminded me of mayo with a cup of sugar.

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?

I don't get it, Twelve. Here's your big chance to talk endlessly about your hate for beets and skunks and not a word. Too busy replacing all the broken glass in your glass house??

kraft,

I was wondering when somebody was going to mention that. You are right on that one, not a word.

I recorded Dr. Phil the other day and just finished watching it. I thought of twelvepole when Dr. Phil said, "we hate in others what we see in ourselves".
