Well, my kid had her first OB GYN, with hubby in tow of course
They come over right after with pics of the ultra sound
Now, is it just me, but I don't SEE anything but a 'blob' in these ultra sound pictures??
I mean, yeah, they were all gushing over them, 'there's the head' etc etc, and I would say 'oh yeah!' but really.. I didn't see anything..
God is that bad or what?
When I was pregnant, I didn't have any ultra sounds done. Three pregnancys, only 2 live births but never had ultra sounds done. I had friends show me theirs in the past, and they all did the same, 'theres the head, the feet..' and I couldn't see it!
Ok, looks like I'm on a bad start on being grandma huh? .......

I'm like you--can't see anything in those pictures. And on a TV sitcom, when a couple's ultrasound pictures are shown, I still can't see anything. I'm sure my eyes just haven't been educated to know what to distinguish in them.

Well twelve, I hope I will be, just don't like the 'title' LOL! But YES, the child can go home to his/her parents! Thats the BEST part!
Maybe Roadsmith, I don't know. You know these 'kids' eyes are not trained to see into these pictures, but I guess if its 'yours' you will see it? If the dr points everything out to you in the exam room, you take all that in I guess? I still see a blob I would still see a blob, even if the dr told me what everything is! LOL!
I guess its cuz they are so excited, like young parents to be are......

No...it does look like maybe the Grandma-to-be might be in need of glasses though. lol
I do think they can be difficult to 'read' for the untrained/unfamiliar eye. Once you're looked at many of them they become clearer and clearer. Some of course, are better than others. Clarity of the pics can depend on many things.
My DIL just found out [for sure] that they're expecting again. She's about 8 weeks along and having a real hard time with morning sickness with this pregnancy. She didn't have this trouble in her last pregnancy. She's getting so thin I worry about her....and am hopeful this passes soon.
You're going to be a GREAT Grandmother, I have no doubt about that.

I still say it looks like a 'blob' LOL!!
But then again, the ultra sound was done at BARELY 8 weeks.
She is getting morning sickness pretty bad too. So your going to be a grandma again! Wow! congrats!
Libra, I've heard the term 'meema' before, thats cute
Oh yeah, they are getting 4 dimensional 'ultra sounds' done, they showed me the pamphlet, wow! Shows the baby perfectly, at least in the pamphlet! I asked her if this was covered under ins. and she said yes, but I highly doubt that! Too new, and high techie (I think! )

NearTheSea. It is better to watch the US in person. Maybe she will take you to an appointment when she has one. They are great to watch. Movement of the baby, the heart beat, the valves opening up. It is unbelieveable what you see and if you get the right ultrasound technologist they will explain a lot. I think at 8 weeks it really is only a head what you see.

Libra, yep, I most likely will go to one or more of her appts with her. I'm really interested in this '4-D' imaging.
I've had ultra sounds done, BOY have I HAD ultra sounds done LOL, but none while pregnant.. they were around of course, but the town I lived in had approx 300 people with one dr. that was Oklahoma, both girls born there.
