Sweet Jesus, I hate Bill O'Reilly, International is an organization
dedicated to the dissemination of information that exposes
Bill O'Reilly for what he is: The most dangerous man in "news".
(When stating aloud, you should always use air quotes.)

Bill is an ego-driven, biased individual who spreads fear, hate and
misunderstanding. His views are firmly anchored to the political right
and he works tirelessly to enrage Americans and pit them against
anything he considers "liberal" or, worse yet, "secular". Mr. O'Reilly
uses highly manipulative forms of presentation, phrasing and, yes,
"spin".

THE MOST O'REILLY MOMENT OF THE DAY - by JG Minton

July 29, 2004 - For Bill, Size Matters (and he thinks Kerry is gonna be too long)

Bill leads into the Kerry speech:

"The good news for Democrats is Kerry will have a chance to gain some momentum in his
race against President Bush. The bad news is his speech, at around 10 this evening, may
run more than an hour. That would be a disaster in this age of short concentration spans
and microanalysis. Talking for that long is almost unheard of."

Okay, this bothers me for a two reasons:

1. John Kerry has roughly a 50/50 chance of being leader of the free world. Once every four
years we go through this little exercise of democracy. This is the first major opportunity to hear
Kerry's vision for our country. The fact that Bill is already telling people that it will be too long, is
just plain nuts.

2. Does Bill have so little belief in the American public that he feels they can't give the man who
could be the 44th President of the United States as much time as they give CSI: Miami every
f----ing week?

But, here is the best part:

"Now I've seen Kerry's speech. It's right here. And it's mostly general stuff you've heard
before."

Thanks, f---er. I wonder if Bill will give that same in-depth analysis to President Bush's speech.
Don't worry, we'll compare.

An O'Reilly Attack Spells Good Fortune for All

Well, it looks to be a virtual guarantee, kids.... If O'Reilly declares war on you, chances are you
will win big. Time after time, when Bill tries to bring someone down, success comes a callin'.

1. O'Reilly attacks Al Franken - Franken book outsells O'Reilly's by nearly a hundred thousand
2. O'Reilly attacks Hillary Clinton - Clinton book outsells O'Reilly's by half-a-million
3. O'Reilly attacks NPR - Joan Kroc leaves $200 million bequest to NPR
4. O'Reilly attacks Michael Moore - Fahrenheit 9/11 grosses over $100 million in first month
5. O'Reilly attacks Rapper Jadakiss - Jadakiss receives lucrative contract with Microsoft

We'll keep you posted as O'Reilly spreads wealth and success to all his enemies.

O'Reilly is a white Al Sharpton. The most entertaining interview I've seen in a while was O'Reilly vs. Sharpton.

The whole re-elect Bush news network (Fox News) will go the same way as the old Morton Downey Jr. show.

Every personalty Fox News has become sooo predictable it is becoming very boring.

You know exactly where O'Reilly is going before he gets there, but he shouts to the roof tops that he isn't a conservative or a Republican.

Well, the owner of Fox is a right wing republican and he won't put anyone on the air unless it serves his political purposes.

I watched an interview with Ted Turner the other day. (he is funny as hel1 in interview, how he enjoys himself) - but when asked who do you not really like, or consider a danger, he said Rupert Murdoch because he wants to control and dominate just about EVERYTHING. Scary......

Fox has become the informertial of news. All I see is O'reilly hawking his books and other merchandise. Hannity's constant attacking of Kerry, and trying to sell stuff turned me away from watching him. Like them or not CNN is still the professional news network.

As what Linda K likes to call me, "an Ultra Liberal," I actually enjoy watching Bill O'Reilly. I love to watch him throw his tirades, I love to watch him tell lie after lie, I love to hear his "No Spin Zone" lies, and most importantly, I love to hear him debate over his guests. It is like watching Howard Stern do right winged politics. Ironically, about one out of every ten arguements O'Reilly makes I may agree on, similar to how I feel about Howard Stern.

The problem with O'Reilly is that he spreads his personal opinions as if they are facts. Unfortunately, people like EbayAuctionGuy take everything that O'Reilly says as the divine truth, as do so many other non-intellictuals across America. I make it a point to listen to Air America's talk shows, to listen to Rush Limbaugh and the other righties out there, watch O'Reilly about once a week to see where each are pulling America. I don't care for Randy Rhodes, I don't care for Ed Schultz, I somewhat like Al Franken, though many of his jokes are stale, but I listen to all of them regularly. I don't care for any of the right winged talking heads either, but I make sure to give them a fair shake as well.

I know I am smart enough to tell when someone is blowing smoke up listeners or viewers butts, and if I question what they are saying, I will make a note of it right there on the spot and do some research. I watch C-SPAN to keep up with Washington as well. All of these talking heads, whether conservative, liberal, radical, or whatever are simply entertainers. None of them should be taken too seriously, and if you do take them seriously, you should at least research what they are saying instead of quoting them as if they are some scientific fact.

What's frightening is how many uneducated folks out there get ALL their "news" from Fox, O'Reilly, and Rush Limbaugh--oh, and Rev. Sun Moon's Washington Times. The ones I know don't read a real newspaper, don't watch real news, don't know what C-Span is, etc. etc. Poor souls.

We had a salesman on our city council once who would come into our work sessions and tell us the latest "facts" he'd learned on his road trips, from the Rush L. radio show. Even the conservatives on our city council laughed at him; some of the "facts" were urban legends.

Then there is this disturbing number --- 80% of Fox News viewers think that Iraq and Saddam Hussein were involved with al Qaeda and the 9-11 attack.

Yeah, it's a no spin zone there on Fox News.

Fox's ratings rise despite recent harsh criticism

Recent attacks on Fox News Channel by liberals most notably by the documentary Outfoxed have actually helped ratings, according to the network.

Fox's total viewer numbers are up 13% since July 8 over the same period last year; CNN is up 1%, with MSNBC down 9%.

Fairness & Accuracy in Reporting kicked off the attacks, saying that during a six-month period ending in December 2003, 57% of guests on Brit Hume's show, Special Report, were conservative.

That was followed by the release of Robert Greenwald's Outfoxed, which uses Fox News clips as evidence that the network leans right and supports the Republican agenda. Last week, several groups challenged Fox's use of its slogan "fair and balanced" with the Federal Communications Commission.

But the publicity has benefited Fox News, says chief Roger Ailes: "The attacks are clearly driving ratings. The success of Fox News is based on fairness. Viewers know when we're being attacked unfairly, and they're responding."

That's great linda, you LIKE the fact the one of the most inaccurate, out right lying, misinformation stations is getting good ratings ??
What a dope, how anti-American, you love lying and deceit to win...no wonder you like bush.

This reinforces my previous statement about liberals here confusing commentary with news.
Much of the "evidence" they use for their positions almost always come from COMMENTARY not news.

O'Reilly is a commentator, and a not particularly conservative one at that.

Sure Fox has ratings, but so did Jerry Springer and Morton Downey Jr when they first came on the air.

It will fade. After a few weeks Fox News becomes completely predicable and boring.

Everyone watches O'Reilly whether you like him or not, that is what makes him so good. The "left" watches and stews and complains and gripes but the bottom line is "they watch".

O'Reilly is a clown. Fox is a transparent joke. Fox's ratings went up for the same reason wrestling's ratings went up. Entertainment.

O'Reily went head to head with Paul Krugman - a NY Times writer- the other day and Krugman waxed O'Reilly's arse. All O'Reilly could do was get mad and call Krugman names.

But Krugman shed a lot of light on a lot of things.

He gave a great explanation about why so many people think Bush won the Florida vote. It seems that if you only look at the precincts that Gore wanted re-counted, then Bush very well may have won. However, when all precincts are examined Gore defintely won.

prof I disagree with you infrequently however I feel you owe wrestling an apology for an unfair comparison and claim to similarity with Fox news.

In wresting no one is hurt, on Fox the truth sacrificed in the name of patriotism.
