In describing the carefully designed "stage" for Bush's speech
"He is not just trapped by a stage," Mr. McKinnon said. "He doesn't have the usual comforts of a stage behind him. To me that says strength, that he is willing to stand out there alone" among all the delegates.

Helen, I do belive that this is an act of courage on Bush's part.
When you are as afraid of dissenting opinion as Bush & Co. are and attending a convention which has openly stated it wants even Republicans of differing viewpoints to attend, it takes bravery on Bush's part to allow non-vetted people that close to him. THey might actually have the temerity or gall to voice those opinion. Or, even worse, he might even have to deal with them talking to him on or asking him questions about those dissenting viewpoints.
I feel for Bush. He'll be scared spitless.
On the other hand, I look forward to the new Bushisms he'll undoubtedly coin during the convention .

It's going to be real comedy watching the RNC trundling out Giuliani, McCain et al, trying to make us believe these guys represent the base of the Republican party. Forget about Ashcroft, Rove and Wolfowitz,( please ), McCain is the true indicator of Republican values...uh-huh, that's believable....

I didn't see the seminar on "Torture For Fun and Profit".
That is on the schedule for Day 2 along with pictures of how Iran and North Korea have WMD and intend to use them.
Day 3 of the convention will consist of a game to find Bin Laden since Bush and Co. do not know where he is located. Bush is hoping a simulated game might give him some new ideas.

Since we are basically running Iraq through what amounts to a puppet government... and since to maintain stability it is apparent we will be in Iraq for many years... and since we want to force democracy on the Iraqi people whether they want it or not... and since we say they need to have an election...
I suggest we allow all Iraqis to register as voters for this election. I'm sure that they would like to have a REAL VOICE in how their government and country will be run for the foreseeable future... and they will not have that no matter who they vote for or who eventually runs their government... They will have more of a say in their government by helping us choose our next President.
Bush shouldn't have anything to worry about since they love him so much for liberating them. I think we should allow them to show their approval. LOL Doc
