I've talked to friends, relatives, and bidders on ebay who all serve in the military, and for some strange reason an overwhelming group say that they among the others that serve with them prefer Kerry to Bush. That would seem to contradict what the neo-cons want to believe.

A President that can't conjure up enough support from their troops??? Perhaps it is all of the budget cuts for Veterans Benefits, sending troops into harms way for a personal grudge, killing their fellow soldiers and innocent civilians so Bush and Cheney can make a few more bucks. Perhaps, they actually realize the truth. Their unfit commander in chief has used, abused, and abandoned them. They can easily see through their lies. They can see they are simply protecting Haliburton's no bid contracts. A military serviceman can see that they make 1/4 salary as someone who does the exact same job for Haliburton. They can see the death, bloody murder first hand while Bush and Cheney sit back in their air conditioned offices and strategize where their next million dollars will come from. They can see that Cheney was a draft dodger, and Bush had a silver spoon (with cocaine) up his nose during the latter part of his hiding in the National Guard during Viet Nam. They can see the gaping holes in the Bush Administration's policies. They can see that it is their families who suffer from the seperation anxiety, they can see that their fellow service personnel are told they are going home only to be told at the last minute that they joke was on them.

NOT SO !!
My wife and I just took our daughter to the the airport to fly out to Fort Jackson in S. Carolina, she is in the Army. We have another daughter who is at Fort Lewis in Tacoma, Wa. in the National Guard. We just came from that base and have spent considerable time around the military in the past several years. If you think the military is behind Kerry you could not be more wrong if you tried. 7 or 8 out of 10 soldiers we have talked to are, without question, behind President Bush.

I have to agree with bootclan. Our Daughter is an Army Captain and her troops DO NOT want to see Kerry in the White House.

I have to agree with bootclan also. Our SIL is in the Reserves, his brother is serving now, and they are both for Bush. His time was up for the reserves (6 years) and he went and re enlisted.

And my son is a Marine, currently serving too.

He has told me they all are hoping kerry doesn't get elected.

--------

One good thing we family members don't have to worry about this year is our overseas soldiers and their ballots not being counted. Not going to be the same 'date stamp' rejected ballots from those serving that there were in 2000 ....[gore's whining.]

As many of you may know it's been made a priority this election that those overseas ballots are being handled differently this time...so the soldiers fighting will have their voices heard.

rusty,
Our kids our serving and fighting for your right to have the freedom to express your views. You should be thankful for these soldiers and the sacrifice that they make to protect us all. The sad part is people like you take there freedoms for granted and don't have a clue how fortunate they are to live in a country with so many freedoms which lets you post your many critical and outright lies about our great county and President. At least, you need to respect the office of the President.

Respect the office of President??? Are you simply nuts? I have the right to express myself freely as I wish. The only reason why Bush hasn't been impeached and removed from office is that he has the House and Senate to protect himself. Trust me... if just the House was Democrat, he would be impeached. The guy is a moron. He is a killer, he is a liar, and is a fake.

My father lost the use of his knee in Vietnam, so don't go preaching to me about respecting our military. I served my country. I have had friends who died serving their country, I have friends and family who currently serve their country. Not every military service person lets the neo-cons think for themselves. You can guarantee there are thousands of military service personnel out there who don't want anyone else to know they are supporting Kerry. We see what happens when people try to speak out against their president.

If this president really cared about you, he wouldn't have a problem having public forums where people can see their president in person. I can bet that 99.9% of Americans have never had a chance to see Bush in person acting as president. Not because they didn't want to, but because they can't. He hides behind the walls of the White House. He is scared of the public. I've seen Bill Clinton, I've seen Al Gore, I've seen John Kerry, I've seen Bob Dole, I've seen Ralph Nader, I've seen Howard Dean, I've seen Jimmy Carter all live and in person. Never once having to sign an oath of loyalty. Never once having to pay a penny to see any of them. Ironically, of all of the people mentioned, I have protested Al Gore live and in person. A close friend who was a Russian linguist on a US submarine in the Navy and I even met with Gore's secret service personnel regarding our protest. They asked questions, we told them we were peaceful and wouldn't interrupt, and they had no problems with us. Try doing that with George Bush. We would be detained without probable cause in a heartbeat just to make sure he wasn't challenged.

You see, the point with all of this is that Bush is so out of touch with reality. Sure, the military will probably lean more to Bush than Kerry, but don't think for a minute that there aren't a ton of Kerry supporters in the military right now. Keep in mind that Kerry went to fight on the enemies front while George Bush pretended to be a hero by going awol and avoiding his physical right after they started doing drug testing in the military. Go ahead and support a felon. Feel proud of it.

"""so the soldiers fighting will have their voices heard."""

Yup, the Republicans wouldn't allow their votes counted in 2000.....Nice for a change if we could have ALL Americans votes count.

But they won't. Not with Diebolt(sp) machines.
The CEO of that company promised bush all the votes he wanted.

Lay a groundwork of excuses in advance of the election. The "lefties" can see it coming.

bear is of course right there to give us his feeble minded cut and run.

YOUR REALITY CHECK JUST BOUNCED.

"We heard one word over and over again at the Democrat Convention: Hope. But there is a problem, my friends: Hope is not a strategy. Hope doesn't protect you from terrorists, hope doesn't lower your taxes, hope doesn't help you buy a home, and hope doesn't ensure quality education for your kids. As the book of James reminds us, 'It is not enough just to have faith. Faith that does not show itself by good deeds is no faith at all.' You see, it's results that matter; and President Bush does not just talk about hope, he stands on a record of putting hope into action for America." --Michael Steele
