It was her favorite things show and she had all teachers in the audience from all over the country. The one item that impressed me the most was the Maytag washer and dryer that had the flat drying rack on the top. What a great invention. It was big enough to hold either 5 or 6 sweaters flat and also a place for hanging.
She sure gave the things away today. The item that I thought there were over priced was the sweat suit. Bottoms and tops priced separately each about $165.00. Just give me just my size and I am happy

you read too fast classic. Libra was talking about the cost of the sweat suits, not the washer and dryer. lol
Libra, I didn't get home from work in time to see it yesterday. But did you see the one - I think it was last week, when that woman with the beautiful house was living in filth?

Libra - I used to watch Oprhah, years ago. She's been on a long time.
Your mention of the freebies she handed out reminded me of what I read not to long ago. It was reported that she gave audience members brand new cars. But you know why the article was news? Not because of her enormous generousity...but because those who received her generous gift were complaining they couldn't pay the sales tax on them. Talk about kicking a gift horse in the mouth.
She's been a very giving person over the years....and she's definately one-of-a-kind.
And I also know what you mean about how much the sweats combination cost. I can't believe when I occassionally watch these 'make-over' type shows and they're mentioning how 'this pair of wool slacks cost $450.00 and the matching top is $660.00...and the shoes were $245.00. It's like....do they think the average American lives in their world.
