I simply cannot resist the urge to share the cuteness:

Kabu with his favorite toy:

Kabu inside his favorite toy:

Kazu in the middle of a stretch and a yawn:

They're about three months old, and they came to us with the names Cubby and Kirby. My husband changed Kirby's name to Kazu after awesome Mariners pitcher Kazuhiro Sasaki, and I learned that "Kabu" is the Japanese word for "Cub." So now we have Kazu and Kabu.

Our #1 cat, Sunshine, doesn't like them at all:

RainyBear how adorable!
I'm sad to report that our older kitten Karma (about 8 months old) has not been seen in a week. We look for him every evening but I think that he's just gone...I just hope that someone picked him up and is taking good care of him.

But, in the meantime, we still have the little kitten, Littlefoot:

He's 3 months old now.

And does anyone remember my li'l bitty puppy Lucky? Well, she's about 6 months old now and is already huge:

Kiheicat - I'm sorry about Karma, and I hope he comes home soon. I've heard of cats doing that, going away for weeks and then returning out of the blue.

Tegan - I'd be honored to have you use the second picture for a painting, and I'd love to see a picture of it after it's finished. Bummer about your cat allergy. The first couple of days these guys were here I was sneezing a little, and I worried that I was allergic to them. I'll just go crazy if I ever develop a cat allergy, but it wouldn't surprise me because I developed an allergy to guinea pigs after not having problems with them for years. Now I can't even be in the same room with them without getting sneezy and having itchy eyes.

Kabu is cute, but we think he's a little nuts and we're not sure how bright he is. We like to say that Kabu hears voices in his head. His brother Kazu, on the other hand, is a sharp little fella.

Tegan - I have a friend whose husband is horribly allergic to cats. She was devastated when she thought she was going to have to choose between her fur babies and her fiance. Her vet gave her a shampoo that cuts down the dander and they have to bath the cats every couple of weeks but her hubby can live in the same house with the cats. Bathing cats is not a fun way to spend an afternoon but if you really want one it may be worth looking into.

Rainybear; Thanks I will post the painting here when I do it. ( after the holidays of course )
sjl1017 I really really want a cat. I have had cats all my life and it is only in the last ten years that my allergies have been this bad. I will talk to the vet about that shampoo this week. It I got a kitten from the animal shelter I could start him early on baths. Maybe that would work, you think?
I have to bath my Yorkie Cleo once or more a week anyway because she likes to roll in dead stinky things. (you know like snakes too slow for the lawnmower)

Tegan - have you thought about getting allergy shots? If you really want cats you could see a doctor and see if you could set up a treatment. I've heard that can be effective for various kinds of allergies.

We gave both kittens a bath shortly after they came home. Kazu wasn't very happy about being bathed and he tried to escape by climbing up the curtains.

RainyBear - love your new babies poor Sunshine.... maybe if you rub the newbies with butter, they might be more appealing to Sunshine?

tegan - poor sweetie! maybe the hairless cats?

There is something called Allerpet-C. It is a liquid that's about six bucks a bottle. You rub it on the fuzzball once a week with a sponge and it is supposed to work wonders for those with allergies. It's safe too.

Several friends of mine swear by this stuff.

Not Kerryann on eBay

Rainybear: you might want to think about renaming sunshine. With that expression she looks more like a rumbling gray storm cloud.
I am going to see about the shots as soon as we get this sleep problem fixed. It would be so nice to have a little kitten.
Toomanycomics..very funny don't those hairless cats look like something that would come ripping out of someones stomach in a scary sci-fi movie. ick ick ick and yuck

I think I will check out that allerpet stuff.
The problem is I also have asthma which I have managed to keep under control well enough that I only us an inhaler about once a month. I can't afford to have constant allergy symptoms because I have been told that that can make your asthma worse.

You're right about the name "Sunshine" not fitting her in that picture -- it's more like "Thor," god of thunder!! She was pretty pissed off right then with the kittens running around. Poor furry baby.

tegan...
I bought a lot of stuff worth hundreds of dollars from Eckerds drug store for just pennies & among it was 2 spray bottes of Sneeze No More cat allergy relief. You DON'T spray it on the cat, you spray it around the house it says it effectively weakens allergens caused by cat dander & can be sprayed on carpets, furniture & cat bedding. No odor or residue. Has an unconditional
money back guarantee so maybe it works. also says safe for people & pets. I will be more than happy to give you both bottles if you would like to give it a try. Just email me your address. I am [email protected]
Also mcjane on ebay
